No, actually you don't. I have no idea about Eadie but there is no residency requirement. Recently Thomas Steen and Scott Fielding lived outside the wards they represented. It's poor form, but it happens.

While that may be true, Ross does live in his ward... On Scotia as Simplicity says. He catches the bus with me quite often.

EDIT: That doesn't excuse him from being a douche regarding the Pedestrian and Cycling plan.

^ It didn't seem all that easy for them to fill their space, but I guess they'll get a chance to rectify that error at True North Square.

Eadie has lived in the area long before he first ran for council. I doubt he moved to River Heights after getting elected to council.

Yeah, looks like only school trustees have to live in their ward.

Either way, Thomas Steen lived on Grassie in the new condos @ Molson which were in his ward. And Fielding only moved out of his ward mid-term. Otherwise, they all live in their wards. Even Pagtakhan lives in his derelict ward right in the middle of the worst area of town.

Are they counting the hotel here? The office portion is only 5 storeys high. If demand has been so hot in the 5 years they're been marketing the project, why are there still gaping vacancies?

This is another Geoff Kirbyson article. We've seen a couple of them now that read like a McNeill.

I might be able to stomach it for MPs given how big the ridings are, but I could never knowingly vote for a MLA or city councillor who doesn't live in my riding. Respect to Pagtakhan for living among the people he wants to represent...

I thought Chief lived in the North End? Wasn't that part of the story - that he wasn't going anywhere - after getting mugged running on the Salter Bridge?

Someone I consider reliable told me he lived in another neighbourhood, but a bit of Googling brings up some new stories that describe him as residing in the North End... I stand corrected. His predecessor George Hickes was a well known St. Vital resident, though.

Those are all awesome, been saying for a while Broadway could use a refresh... And, it could be a real thing, a bunch of the boulevards on Broadway are all marked up from Hydro and look like there might be work happening on them soon. Didn't say anything because I was hoping someone would find details on it.

Not quite. According to the article below, Steen was a resident of Transcona, not Elmwood-East Kildonan when elected:

When he was elected his condo didn't exist. He moved into the condo at Molson and Grassie about midway through his tenure when they were completed.
