There's a good-sized building going up in the northwestern portion of Harbour Landing. It's hard to miss with that crane atop.

New sign is up. The patio is gonna be great as it will get a lot of sunlight for a good chunk of the day. The owner has told me they are targeting July 24 to open but I suspect it will be early August.

I agree, the City certainly hasn't been forthcoming about a change that will clearly negatively impact business owners in the area, as well as residents who will need to re-route.

In this day & age, just holding a 3 hour open house at a low-volume shopping mall is just poor strategy. Where was the City Page notice? Where is the notice (with drawing) on the regina.ca page? Social media (open house notice, with no drawings on FB)? etc...

Even in this post to the City's webpage, (and related tweet), they do not say that they're permanently closing the section of Eastgate. The render doesn't make this clear... closest they get is:

• Reconfiguration of the intersection of Coleman Crescent and Eastgate Drive to improve traffic safety.
• Removal of deteriorated timber bridge on Eastgate Drive.

Taken together, and without mention of a replacement for the Eastgate timber bridge, one could infer that the section of Eastgate leading to the bridge is being closed... but once again, why not just explicitly state this?

The lead contractor for the 18 (9 joint) new schools P3 is Bird Construction. They were founded here and have a long history in SK. They left the Province when the economy was languishing but they are now back. Form their website:

1930 - Bird Construction incorporates in Regina, and is awarded its first $1 million contract, Canadian Pacific Railway’s Regina Union Station.

They built many schools in the 60's and 70's including Campbell.

Regina Pacers are losing their baseball diamonds (Arcola and Tower Rd) due to the bypass. Of course, no one wants to take responsibility. Anyone know where these diamonds could go? The city seems to be planning expansion in all directions.

The City is actively looking for new sites and has been for some time.

Superstore North and Superstore SE are looking for approval from the city to add more buildings.

It is just a technical thing. The full extent of development on site has been previously authorized by City Council under the discretionary use process. CBC just missed that.

They also built Cooper Place (2350 Albert). Does anyone have a complete list of Bird's buildings?

I know they built Union Station (Casino). More recently they have been doing industrial work in SK. CCRL expansion in Regina and Potash expansion at Rocanville.

I believe BIRD is constructing 2 of the 9 schools between Saskatoon and Regina as per their press release. It is also my understanding that subtrades are busy resubmitting tenders as there was only 65% drawings at the time of tender close. Last I heard construction start is slated to start in early September.

The last time I saw Bird in Regina was at the Federated Coop Refinery. They might of done some Enbridge work in the province recently as well.

There is some really great potential for that area if it's handled right. I don't really trust the city to do it correctly considering how they've bungled so many projects in the last 5-10 years, but I still hope it's done well!

Does anyone know if they still plan on adjusting the alignment of Dewdney to the south between Albert and Broad to allow patios on both sides? This was talked about back in 2010 & 2011 during the initial planning phase for a stadium on the CP lands.
