Anyone know when the sales centre for The Sh*ts Creek will open up?

spm2013 is that you?

If you're referring to Concert, they will start marketing mid-Summer from what I heard last.

No that's not me, but every time I see that sign on Concerts building for the Creek I think of that TV show Shits Creek

That is great to hear. It seems like just yesterday every paper and pundit was criticizing the Village as being empty and undersold.

I have a few friends that live in the Village and they are amazed at the number of residents with kids. Another surprise is its popularity as a cycling destination for commuters and recreational riders.

Anyway, it is great to see less than a dozen units are left.

That shot really gives you an idea of how much land is still waiting to be developed in SEFC. The area will add so much more density over the next decade. And that's not even taking into account all the density that can/will be added to the adjacent areas along Main/Terminal/Great Northern Way/etc.

If you mean the industrial lands south of 2nd, those are untouchable for now. The City wants to maintain the amount of industrial lands. If only they could do a land swap with somewhere else. That area is very suitable for downtown's expansion.

I wasn't necessarily talking about any land further south. There are still two huge lots to develop immediately to either side of the OV, plus some smaller ones along 1st and 2nd that have yet to be re-developed.

Then there's a large lot between Central and Main St. Station, which hopefully will include a decent sized office tower (or two). Then there's a lot of office being built along Terminal. there's also the future St. Paul's site which will be a huge complex.

So much will be built in the area and immediate vicinity in the next decade it will dwarf the size of the original OV.

Well on the left (east) side of OV, The Creek is being marketed this summer, the plan is already completely approved. The other side is COV owned which will host a school and a park. I don't think there is any more development planned.

The McDonald's site and the parking lot to the North are also city owned IIRC. I imagine they will be more condos in line with what we have seen in the last 2-3 years.

So, lots of plans in the works, it will just take time to unfold.

The pie shaped lot to the west (south of the Hinge Park) is owned by Concord Pacific.
Haven't heard anything about it recently though.

The curve also has no relationship to the angles of the streets, either, and from the perspective driving east on West 2nd
would be more of a visual barrier than the angled building.
It also chops the top off one of the taller "feature buildings" and gives us a building height consistent with
the tabletop of the other buildings in SEFC.
It looks like Concord Pacific tranferring its "Colours" project to the site.

I like those curved buildings, but the eastern one should be double the height. Such "twin towers" would make for an interesting element in that area.

I believe the McDonald's site is owned by McDonalds and have no plans to go anywhere.
