The Greenbelt assumed a city much smaller than it became.

It does seem that the most active building areas are the furthest from downtown. Cheaper to build, more expensive to service.

Your condo tower is starting to shape up. I always think of condos having many floors, but this condo seems to only have two floors. I keep on thinking that it looks more like a house than a condo. When will they finish constructing the condo tower? When do you move in? I hope that it looks nice and you enjoy it.

That will be great to have the Cacao 70 at Lansdowne park. I love chocolate very much. I would not mind trying of the desserts and having a hot chocolate. The chocolate pizza must have a sweet taste in contrast to the regular pizza. I am wondering, if they will sell frozen hot chocolate. I will definitely try this amazing store, when it opens. The chocolate sounds delicious!

Think about trying to come from south of Bank and Hunt Club on a bike. Yes, they built that nice bike trail along Sawmill Creek but it takes you over to Hogs Back. How do you get to Lansdowne from there without facing some awful traffic? And then there is the totally bike unfriendly conditions at the end of the bike trail at Hunt Club.

They have that trail access blocked off currently at Brookfield (where I live), because they are building a by-pass underneath the O-train tracks.

I read an article about Cacao 70 by HolmWood and it mentioned that Cacao 70 will have all kinds of chocolate desserts. They will have chocolate chip cookies, brownies, chocolate pizza, chocolate sundaes, chocolate ice cream, chocolate pancakes, and chocolate fondue. They mentioned hot chocolate for sure. The frozen hot chocolate which I was referring to was the one which I drink at Second Cup once every month in the summertime. What the people do at Second Cup is that they use ice cubes, cocoa powder, and make dried or fresh milk and crush it through a blender. Then they add whipped cream on top and put some chocolate swirls, but that is just Second Cup. I do not know about Cacao 70. I just have this feeling that this place will sell wonderful chocolate treats.

What a beautiful picture of the condo tower at Lansdowne park. It looks very picturesque being very close to the river. Are you planning to move to this condo at Lansdowne park? Are dogs allowed?

Holm wood: You're right, I'll most likely be the last one to move in. It doesn't look like it's progressed much from the outside since I took that picture.

loga: Some of the units are terrace homes, where you have two units of two stories one above the other, and other units are townhouses that are four stories tall. I'm moving in next month.

It's progressed a bit since that picture, but it looks like they've started on the west side of the block. They've got the exterior cladding up on about a third of the building now. Lucky you're moving in near the end - less time in a construction zone, fewer months of occupancy fees, and hopefully they'll have most of the bugs worked out by the time they get to your unit. Did you pick your unit because of that or did it just turn out that way?

Went to the Cineplex for the first time to watch Mad Max on D-Box, it's seriously awesome, easily my favourite movie theatre in Ottawa.

They really need to close off the square to car traffic though. Not only does it feel out of place, but it's annoying as a pedestrian.

I went to see 'Cinderella' a month ago at the Lansdowne in the regular movie theatre. It is owned by Cineplex just like Silvercity, but there are escalators to go up in the 2nd and 3rd floor. I would not go to Lansdowne on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday because the movies start at 6:00 p.m and it is too late for me. I will probably go on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday at an earlier time. However, most of the time the Lansdowne park does not usually show movies which interest me. The Lansdowne park does not show classic movies like 'The Sound of Music' and 'Wizard of Oz' and the National Theatre live and Stratford live like the Silvercity and Bytowne do. If I find a movie which interest me, I might go to Lansdowne park, but only in the weekend.

I have yet to try D-Box anywhere, is it really worth it? Doesn't it get annoying at times? Myself and a few others are going to see Mad Max tonite in the VIP (free upgrade). Can't wait!

Noticed that Jack Astors opened their patio, it is a solid looking one, with many heaters, so that one should go late into the fall. Joey's and Local still working on their patios, shouldn't be long now before they open and judging by their construction, those patios will also be quite solid and include heaters. Makes me wonder if Milestones will upgrade their patio for next year or keep it minimalist as is?

I was there at about 5pm on Sunday, so a good 2 hours after the Farmer's Market wrapped up, and all of Lansdowne had quite a few people walking around, and both Jack Astors and Milestones patios were full! Good sign.

I also noticed that there is an all day breakfast place about to open across from Winners, and a small Asian Cuisine place coming soon as well, across from the Industria.

Lansdowne is slowly becoming a foodie place, I approve!

What is the name of the breakfast place which is supposed to open across from Winners? I agree with you that Lansdowne park is turning into a food place with all those restaurants and fast food joints around. I only tried 'Teriyaki'. I am eager to try those interesting restaurants. Even 'Whole Foods' has a little cafeteria in the basement. The cinemas have a pub on the top floor. With so much competition around with those restaurants, I hope that one of those restaurants do not go bust.

Went to Jack Astors this weekend and the food was great and their beer selection was good too. Had their Fish 'n Chips and a pint of Blanche de Chambly. The fact that they were playing the Montreal Impact game on Saturday was a plus as well.

Went to the Lululemon Training with the Pros event on Sunday where we trained with the Fury and I had a great time even though my muscles are hating me today.

I love what they did with Lansdowne regardless whether or not it's what was originally promised. It's still hundreds of times way better than what it was. It was the first time I parked in the underground parking garage on Sunday and I had a good experience. I liked the green and red lights indicating whether or not the parking space was in use.

For Ottawa Fury games, I usually either take transit from home or I park at Carleton (I have a parking pass since I'm taking part-time courses) and take transit from there.
