I believe its the project mentioned in this article. Pollack Shores Targets Buckhead Office Building

The address is 1888 Emery St which is near the Crescent Howell Mill development. Pollack recently filed permits to demolish the office buildings on the site.

Atlanta City Council OKs Tyler Perry deal at Fort McPherson

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/real_...ler-perrys-plans-for-fort-mcpherson.html

Quote:
The Atlanta City Council signed off late Monday on a deal that would allow filmmaker Tyler Perry to turn much of Fort McPherson into a movie studio.
Council members voted 11-1 to support a request by Mayor Kasim Reed to extend a $13 million line of credit, a commitment required by the U.S. Army in order to clean up 22 acres of contaminated brownfields on the site in southwest Atlanta and finalize Tyler Perry Studios' purchase of 330 acres of the 488-acre former base.

Upon further investigation, I'm pretty sure this is the site. Its right next to I-75 and across the street from Crescent Howell Mill. The acreage and number of units on the Preston Partnership website for Flats at Howell Mill is the same as that of the documents submitted for 1888 Emery St by Pollack.

Dewberry Proposes 6 new floors for Campanile + Residential tower

http://www.ajc.com/news/business/unusual-upward-addition-planned-for-midtown-high-r/nk3B7/

Quote:
John Dewberry, of Dewberry Capital, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution he hopes to start construction later this year or next that will turn the 21-story Campanile building into a 27-story building. The tower was erected in the 1980s at the corner of Peachtree and 14th streets and for years was BellSouth’s headquarters.

He said by the end of next year he will begin developing a 300-unit apartment high rise and perhaps additional parking, all on the site of the Campanile’s existing parking deck across Juniper Street. In the same time frame, he said he will add 50,000 square feet of space for restaurants and shops around the perimeter of the Campanile itself.

CBRE puts Atlantic Station's undeveloped land on the market

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/real_...-puts-atlantic-stations-undeveloped.html

Quote:
CBRE is putting the remaining 16 acres of undeveloped land at Midtown’s Atlantic Station on the market, as property values within the city’s arts and cultural district continue to climb.
The decision comes as Midtown land prices have reached their highest price per acre since 2008, according to market data. Cushman & Wakefield is marketing the Atlantic Station land holdings on behalf of CBRE Global.

Loudermilk Cos. unveils Buckhead Village office building

http://m.bizjournals.com/atlanta/real_ta...-unveils-plans-for-buckhead-village.html

Quote:
Atlanta’s The Loudermilk Companies unveiled its proposal today for a 12-story tower in the Village at 359 East Paces Ferry. The project would redevelop an aging office building that stands on the site. Loudermilk presented the plans to a Buckhead Development Review Committee.

It would be the first new speculative office building developed in the Village in years. Loudermilk proposes a 12-story building, with only abut 125,000 square feet of office space, built on top of a parking deck.

Related Group presents plans for Buckhead tower

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/real_...p-presents-plans-for-buckhead-tower.html

Quote:
The developer on May 6 presented plans for the first phase of a residential tower at Peachtree and Stratford roads, the latest project next to the new MARTA pedestrian bridge and train station. Related would develop its project in two phases. The first is set to include a 26-story tower with 386 units and two stories of commercial space.

The Related Group had planned to develop a tower behind Lenox Square mall. Lenox owner Simon Property Group has started marketing that site to other developers, people familiar with the project say.

So I guess we can say goodbye to this proposal

These folks need to move some dirt here in Atlanta or stay put in FL!

They did at least begin permitting process for 22 14th St. which is at least a unique design for the Atlanta area.

Did anyone get any photos of their new proposal at the church site?

Related's Buckhead site should have info posted later today.

22 14th Street - outside of some interesting details on the bottom, it is just a rectangle glass box (just like everything else). Also, it has taken them exactly one year to begin the permitting process. I am really beginning to doubt how much juice this company has.

Tech Square Construction Boom in 2016

In a couple of Business Chronicle articles on two projects at Tech Square, it was revealed that Portman is the presumed developer of the High Performance Computing Center with a planned groundbreaking in the second quarter of 2016.

While Cousins, which is developing the NCR HQ, is projecting a first quarter 2016 groundbreaking. I am predicting something a little taller than the 8-story buildings that were a part of the plan for that site.

Portman Holdings emerges as front-runner to develop Tech's HPC project

Quote:
Portman Holdings has emerged as the front-runner to develop a $300 million mixed-use project for Georgia Tech in Midtown’s Technology Square. Georgia Tech has not made an official announcement about the developer. It planned to submit its choice to the Georgia Board of Regents by the end of May.

NCR Midtown campus could break ground in early 2016

Quote:
In its call with analysts, Cousins went out of its way to avoid naming NCR, citing tight confidentiality restrictions.
“As has been widely reported in the press, we are in active discussions with a corporate user to develop their new corporate headquarters in Midtown Atlanta,” Cousins CEO Larry Gellerstedt said.

Gellerstedt added his company would develop a build-to-suit project “utilizing capital from Cousin’s balance sheet in a long-term lease from our potential corporate partner.”

Gellerstedt went on to say the building’s design and size are still evolving, “but we estimate that the project could break ground in the first quarter of 2016.”

Developing a high rise is a long process. The towers under construction now have been in the pipeline for years. Related Group has the opportunity to develop on a much better, higher profile site and its just a smart business move to pursue development of the Peachtree and Stratford site over the one behind Lenox.

I disagree that the 22 14th is just like everything else. Yes, the massing is similar as it is for most high rise buildings that are either a box or rectangular. But the design touches are unlike anything else in Atlanta just as you stated concerning the Lenox proposal which was also a rectangular glass box.

Give me a damn break, already. Related is a prolific developer, and their South Florida projects have been transformative. They also more often than not partner with Arquitectonica, delivering masterpieces to the neighborhoods they impact.

In their defense, CityPlace was proposed right at the start of the real estate collapse and the beginning of the Great Recession.

Just like your illogical impatience with the design and speed of the Post Centennial development, perhaps you should have been an equity partner with Related if things aren't moving at 'your' pace.

May 2014 - 22 Fourteenth Street, 1010 West Peachtree Street and Azure on the Park presented their proposals before Midtown's DRC. The later two are already under construction, but 22 14th Street is just starting the zoning process.

So you think it is inappropriate for me to question their speed when other projects of similar sizes are moving much quicker.....hmmm???

Slow your roll atlantaguy - this is a forum not a personal attack.

Correct me if I am wrong, but The Related Group is 2-4. Two dead proposals in Atlanta (CityPlace and Lenox Mall Tower) and Two projects in the Pipeline (22 Fourteenth Street and Buckhead) of which neither of those will break ground before 2016 at the earliest.

See my post above validating my reason to question The Related Group's lack of progress compared to their peers.
