Completely agree. The expansion looks awesome. That East stand is a propper stadium stand. The roof over top will make it that much better.

Also in the right of the picture in the space between the South and East stand you can see the new elevated walkway connecting the two stands.

In Winnipeg you just have a such a higher chance of survival. Like pointed out earlier the jets pay the bills for the Barn,Staff and Practice facilities. I read an article that it will more than double from this season on. That most definitely has to do something with the moose as your bringing an additional 5-8000 more people down down 38 times a year.

The only downside to this whole deal for Winnipeg as a city is it's gonna damage Winnipeg's concert scene. But TNSE took over the Burton Cummings Theater in downtown Winnipeg. It seats just under 1700 and they have been fixing up the place To hold smaller shows in it. So that will take some stress of the MTSC. Winnipeg is definitely missing a 5000-8000 seat venue. Currently that role is filled by the lower bowl of the big barn. maybe the moose can spearhead that deal

I've said the same thing all along, Thunder Bay always seemed like a poor choice. Wonder if Calgary and Edmonton re-visit having their A' teams in their buildings if the Jets/Moose thing works?

It won't be a stage for concerts. Bob Hunter said in an interview a "staging area."

A staging area does not equal a stage.

A staging area (otherwise staging point, staging base or staging post) is a location where organisms, people, vehicles, equipment or material are assembled before use. It may refer to:

Entertainment
Places designated for setting up parades and other elaborate presentations.

Why would MLSE put in a stage when they just installed a new scoreboard there and when a much better concert venue of 17 000 seats in the ampitheatre is across the street?

The staging area is to better prep for other events (possibly concerts or other shows but without a permanent stage) and to add more change rooms for the Argos/ rugby.

I think it will add character to the place. North America seems to be sold on symmetry. Not everything has to be symmetrical and equal height. Old Trafford, the San Siro, St James Park, the Bernabeau, the Mastella, the nou camp all have stands of varrying heights.

Because they don't own that amphitheatre across the street - and he did say they would love to get back in the concert business at BMO .

They don't own BMO either. Profits need to be split to the city. BMO as a concert venue can't compete with the ampitheatre. Not to mention Echo Beach opened up at Ontario place as well for smaller concerts of 5000.

Sure they can host concerts there, but a staging area is not a stage. Going back into the concert business doesn't mean building a big stage. They own the ACC which is their number 1 concert venue.

Going back into the concert business means having a staging area available to prep for concerts and shows as right now the prep facilities at BMO are scarce besides what TFC already has, and will become even more scarce if the Argos move in.

Let me know how many 40k concerts bmo hosts in the next decade. Ill be surprised if there is more than one.

If artists feel they can sell 40k tickets they usually play back to back shows in the same city and same venue, especially when the ampitheatre has far better accoustics and was purpose built for concerts.

Not to mention most 40k plus concerts or festivals are held at downsview.

Funny how 1 or 2 people say it will be an average arena when in fact it is an improved version of Pittsburgh's Consol Energy Centre. The latter being widely considered the best and most modern arena/facilities by players and fans. Nevertheless, here's hoping we land a team sooner than later. But for now, Go Flames Go!

Thats really good. After only one garden hosing.

Idealy Argos and TFC games would be seperated by at least 5 days, muliple garden hosing, and a couple grass cuts. Should be zero lines after all is said and done.

Should CFL go into BMO Field, one of the end zones will be completely turf. During soccer games, it will be hidden by a fan terrace.

Some more details for Larson

BMO Field will be 90% complete for Sunday's opener. Some minor things like wall painting and railings might not be finished.

Toronto FC now has 18,000 season seat holders + 2,000 "premium seat" holders for a total of 20,000 season seat holders.

MLSE planning on using a latex paint for potential CFL lines. Plan is to steam those off for MLS games.

29,000 tickets sold for Sundays home opener - they are expecting 31,000 with some standing room tickets
