Good, should help balance the mass of the Bow a bit.

I have zero issue with twins either. And they're not unique to Calgary in the first place. Thanks for posting this.
Lol very true first comment. I have no issue with twins, as long as they're well designed buildings. There's also lots of variety in massing/ cladding colors etc here to make having pairs of nearly identical towers a non-issue.

Having said that, wonder if the second tower might get re-designed as a different use given the slowing economy and steady amount of new office inventory set to hit the market over the next few years.

Some twins are awesome because they're twins. I wonder if those with a hate on for all twins would have dissed WTC or Petronas if they had been proposed here. I think the long-dead proposal I miss most from the Calgary skyline is the original tall twin to FCC. I'm not sure Brookfield is better for having a runt twin, but it certainly isn't any worse.

I can handle any twin that replaces a parking garage or surface parking lot, so Brookfield passes this test.

It will also fill in the gap between Suncor/Bow and Bankers/EAP when coming into Calgary on 16th ave from the west. Not to mention it will seem quite tall from that vantage point since the narrow side of Brookfield faces east/west!

Looking forward to this building rise!

You can't be serious. Cantilevered corners are "innovative?" WERE YOU BORN YESTERDAY?

Wow a year already since the pit was dug. It is hard to believe how fast this is going.

Roughly a year from now we should be topping out.

Now that the cranes are sorted out and the core is rocketing skyward, expect steel erection to really get going. This project will move upward fast from this point on.

Couple shots from today, I am fairly confident they poured the 12 floor of the core today and will be stripping and moving the forms tomorrow! They are now on a fairly consistent 6-7 days per floor, so is should start moving fast

Nice to see the curved edges, I think those will be a really nice touch. Are the going to be more pronounced as they go up, or are they uniformly curved all the way up?

More pronounced as they go up.

On the DP it shows the top view of what the bottom floor plan looks like in comparison to the top floor plan, and it's quite a difference. On the very top level it looked like the two curved edges for every side accounted for about a 1/4th of the total edge on each side.....if that makes any sense.

This is a rough approximation of the top floor...somewhere in this ballpark.

This is going to be a fun structure to see rise. Should be able to see the structure looking North up 1st Street pretty soon.

Awesome, I love that design detail. It's a relatively small thing, but will separate it nicely from the sea of boxes.
