Or just build a single TALL tower instead of twins.
We almost always get twins.

Still really excited to see Brookfield rise though.
Great pics Surreal - including some steel details with round corners.

they were taking down the north west crane, but should be putting it back on the mast that you can see in the picture this weekend or next.

I've never understood everyone's dislike of twins.

SSP esthetic groupthink. Just like when one person chimes in about how HORRIBLE x cladding is or whatever and then the pile-on starts. The conformity on this site is pretty astonishing.

I have zero issue with twins either. And they're not unique to Calgary in the first place. Thanks for posting this.

It's kind of amazing how much floor space is taken up by the elevator core on the lower floors of buildings this large. That core is enormous!

I wouldn't worry about it being twins. Given the economy, I'd be surprised if we see the twin built anytime soon.

How long is it taking to pour each floor of the core?

I have been following this building quite closely. Is averaging about one week per pour and each pour looks to be a floor now. The paused for almost two weeks though just recently as the were moving the crane and setting up the main floor steel. I'm anticipating a fairly regular schedule now with pours on Fridays and moving of the core forms on Saturdays, but I don't know 100%.

Awesome photos Btw!

The cores are pretty huge for large towers popping 50+ storeys. Its just a part of normal Skyscraper design. It is no different than how cores of other large to colossal skyscrapers seemed to dominate the floor area on the lower floors and then cut back as it gets higher.
WTC/ Shanghai Tower/ Burj/ Those other supertalls in China.

The rounded steel corner framing looks nice, I do love how this area the engineers worked to make this structurally stable without the aid of a corner column. An innovative move right there, uh RJC I think..

I don't think people appreciate how hulking this tower will be. It will be quite imposing.

^^ Wooster: It will offset the "Girth" of the Bow a little bit.... Wish it was 25 meters taller!

I wish it was taller too. A lot of it is going to be lost in the deluge of buildings around it and only the top will peak out amongst the giants in that area. It's a bit unlike the Bow in that regard.

Some of us find that it takes away from the design if every project is twins, sometimes it works well like Bankers Hall, and sometimes it doesn't.
