Temp seat are gone after the games. The ground under them is not overly stable. The actual permanent seating is quite less. Check my earlier post.

I do know they sold so fast for the Sask Esk game that they decided to add the endzone seating. Plus add the corporate boxes and you may have about 16-17000.

I am not saying Government has not paid Billions of Dollars for them, its just more of a partnership with the teams and private enterprise

So the Argos will have double blue seats when they play in Alberta but not in their soon to be (hopefully) new home in Toronto. I wonder why TFC whent away from the traditional Toronto blue in the first place.
EDIT: Just had a thought about the red seats at BMO - maybe because it is the NMT stadium as well?

Absolutely. BMO was built by the city for the NMT not for TFC. TFC went red (in my opinion) to be branded as Canada's team as they were the only MLS team in the country. I would also imagine the seat design at BMO served as a no brainier for MLSE to stray from the blue.

Fort Mac looks like a nice CIS stadium but hosting a CFL regular season game? For a team from Toronto to boot? I'd say Toronto should be embarrassed about that but they don't even give a crap.

Curious to know if anyone agrees with me on this: if the San Francisco 49ers can move to Santa Clara and still be called "San Francisco", maybe its time the Argos move to London or possibly Mississauga? Not even sure if going to BMO can save them at this point. That's where they played for like 30 years and everyone back then said it was a horrible location.

We still have one business day and news day so even me in having my doubt's would say for us to hold on here. I say this because T-Baum and Bell leaked their identities and IMO wouldn't if they were far from a deal (unless its all smoke).

The ideal move us the Argos in Vaughn by the Subway expansion in Vaughn's new downtown. The reality is that is the Argos strongest and wealthiest support base and for Vaughn its a easy way to brand the city and draw attention to the new downtown. You can keep the Toronto name by Vaughn can aggressively brand the Stadium (ex Sun Life Park @ Vaughn Center City). This has worked for Arlington who aggressively forces the Cowboys and Rangers to use Arlington when referring to where the team plays its games and not " Suburban Dallas". This would expose a Toronto suburb to many Canadians who outside of Ontario likely have never heard of or knew that Vaughn is bigger than most Canadian cities.

The Bills, Patriots, Cowboys, 49ers, Cardinals, Dolphins, Redskins all play in the suburbs and with football as a destination sport with 10 home dates its easier to pull off. It is the best move for the Argos in Vaughn, Toronto does not deserve a team it doesn't want

I like the Argos to Vaughn idea. The fan support seems to come from the 905. Unfortunately there is no appetite to fund a brand new stadium for an Argos team on life support. So what's going to have to happen is the Argos move to BMO for say 10 years and pack the place. Then they may have a business case to build their own stadium North of the 401 and public governments would be more willing to fund it. And if the Argos are profitable they can even put up say 25% of the cost which will please the governments and may make them more willing to match that amount. The stadium doesn't need to be extravagant, something similar to THF. $150 million 25 000 seat stadium with room for easy expansion if needed.

If the Argos "Move" it has to stay in the GTA, London is too far and would cut into TV revenue by moving a team outside the GTA.

I agree that football is one of the only sports where you can build a stadium outside of the downtown or even in the burbs. Arenas for NBA and NHL should be downtown, especially since they host concerts and other events. Baseball is played almost every day and you want those people downtown instead of driving to the burbs everyday. Football being only 10 games a year is a different story. It would be nice if the province allowed temporary tailgating permits for CFL teams. I know in Hamilton the police force have kind of a non written agreement with the fans who tailgate at Scott Park that if they conceal their alchohol and keep it under control they won't be hassled by the cops.

I agree with this. BMO is basically an opportunity for the Argos to right the ship, so to speak. They need to move there, but at the same time they need to start working on a plan ASAP to get out there within 10 years. As has been pointed out, the Argos have never controlled their own venue and it is becoming apparent that this is a must. And in Toronto's case, a suburban setting works for football given the fanbase's location and the availability of land.

Although for what it's worth, when it comes time to build their own venue, I hope the Argos would aim a little higher than THF as a model.

Hey if they can come up with the money either by themselves or through public funds and they can get something better go for it. But bare minimum THF would be a good starting point. Anything grander is gravy and im all for that.

When the big boys get to McMurray, this is the change room they can expect to find. There are 4 of these. Two are connected together by a door. There is a corridor separating 2 from the other 2.

^ Haha, seriously? They build a beautiful stadium with thousands of seats and they put in dressing rooms suited to Timbits hockey? I would imagine that a few of the countless ATCO trailers in the area would be commandeered to provide a slightly more suitable environment, no?

I believe the stadium was never truly believed to house major professional teams. Special events yes. I will see what else they have set up next week

I get that the stadium wouldn't have been designed to CFL or MLS specs, but come on, my junior high school had better dressing rooms than that. I'd be shocked if the CFL teams and Edmonton FC used those.
