Probably most developed countries, I'd wager.
We have 35,000,000 people and the following venues:
Major arenas (the ones capable of hosting the NHL/NBA): 11
Major stadiums (the ones capable of hosting MLB/CFL/MLS): 12
And of those venues, several of them are getting outdated and probably won't be used to house a major tenant on anything more than a temporary basis (Copps Coliseum, SaskPlace, Olympic Stadium, Pacific Coliseum).
So basically 11 major indoor sports venues, 12 major outdoor sports venues. 23 isn't bad, but it doesn't strike me as an amazing number for a country of our population and relative wealth.
