I have no problems with the RPB defending what they believe in, but when the start slamming the CFL as a league and say it is only popular on TV, etc. it pisses me off. TV numbers for TFC are terrible and for me as a fan of MLS concerning, but they ignore those facts when it doesn't suit them. TFC have been bad for so long, I am actually surprised they still have the attendance numbers they do, so good for them. But don't slag on the CFL to make your point.
Look at King10, CFL and TFC / CdnMNT fan and supports then all, and they banned him because apparently 'All for One', means only TFC and no other outdoor sport

I have no particular affinity for soccer having never played it or followed it, but that said I welcome its development in Canada at the amateur and pro levels, as I'm sure most people do.

So I don't get the persecution complex that soccer fans, at least in Toronto, seem to have... honestly, if someone sat there all day running down lacrosse and griping about it all the time you'd conclude that they have a mental disorder. But soccer fans grousing about other sports is just par for the course. These TFC fans sound like some sort of hyper-intense anime nerds living in an all-encompassing bubble. Somebody should tell these guys to lighten up... it's MLS soccer for Christ's sake.

With all the activity over the last 7-8 years and the potential for the next 8- 10, does any country have the Stadiums and Arenas that Canada will have, per-capita?

Probably most developed countries, I'd wager.

We have 35,000,000 people and the following venues:

Major arenas (the ones capable of hosting the NHL/NBA): 11
Major stadiums (the ones capable of hosting MLB/CFL/MLS): 12

And of those venues, several of them are getting outdated and probably won't be used to house a major tenant on anything more than a temporary basis (Copps Coliseum, SaskPlace, Olympic Stadium, Pacific Coliseum).

So basically 11 major indoor sports venues, 12 major outdoor sports venues. 23 isn't bad, but it doesn't strike me as an amazing number for a country of our population and relative wealth.

Sorry pally but some of the Cabbage Patch Whiners are total assholes and called anybody who disagreed with them a troll. I've been a member of the Vs long before CPW were a thought so I don't need any of those goofs telling me how to support because I was supporting the CMNT 20 years before most of them were even born.

And I highly doubt a bunch or Rider fans signed up to troll that forum, they're too busy trolling the Bombers.

Even some of the RPB guys who post at Vs say they have the worst and most uninformed mods going.

Considering as a rule we don't or can't hold cities hostage (by threatening to move) to get a stadium built or issue bonds to pay for them that are still being paid off after the stadium was blown up (A la the Kingdome)
I am not saying Government has not paid Billions of Dollars for them, its just more of a partnership with the teams and private enterprise

Here is Shell Place in Fort McMurray. Getting ready for the Roughriders Esk game. This will be the first test of the new stadium. Concessions will probably not be finished though. There is talk that the Argos may play here as well, The WWC or PanAms are involved.
Also Aerosmith is scheduled to ply in July.

^ Thanks for posting that. I'm really impressed with how Shell Place looks... as a temp venue it definitely looks better than Guelph U. did when it hosted the Ticats.

FYI, it's not a rumour, the Argos are definitely playing their "home opener" there this season.

That looks pretty good. I like how the temporary bleachers on the sideline mesh pretty well with the permanent seats below it.

Will there be temporary seating in the stage endzone as well?

What will total capacity for the CFL games?

Don't know the capacity but the temp seats were not being built in the stage area. I will be back up in 2 weeks and will look it over. FC Edmonton has 3 games there as well. Plus Western Canada Summer Games will be using the site.

BMO is bigger, but Shell Place looks better built with proper concrete grandstands and seats. You'd be hard pressed to find a better < 15,000 seat stadium in this entire country.
