Interesting that the Marriott Residence Inn shown in the background of the New Mosaic webcam shot has the same architect as IGF - Raymond Wan of Winnipeg.

The west side is now going full tilt. They have started to errect the forms for the seating and tunnels. Wonder how fast it'll be before they get to the same place?

It has a good ring, "I'll meet you at the crack before the game" haha. Some may not like it, BUT it will be used :p

They appear to be excavating again. Not sure where they are hauling the fill this year, but there are many dump trucks moving in and out.

From the City of Regina Facebook Page:

"Starting May 4th (May the Fourth be with you) Elphinstone between 10th and North Railway will be restricted to one lane to set up a large mobile crane, that will be needed to unload large steel structures from flatbed trucks (I assume Roof Trusses) The road restriction is expected to be in place for five (5) months."

Looking forward to seeing that steel fly! Curious I thought the one tower crane (next to Elphinstone) would of had the reach and capacity to be able to preform those moves. But I guess not.

As far as I can tell, still dumping south at Lewvan and Highway 1. I've seen many dump trucks from the stadium project going there.

I believe there is 18 more feet to be excavated and hauled away in the bowl.

The slopes for the bottom levels need to be made to grade, more pile caps for the stands put in place and then much more Concrete cast is place for the bowl seating. A lot of ramps need to be constructed as well.

Piles for the scoreboard are coming soon. The scoreboard wil be waaay bigger than you could imagine.

I believe steel will be arriving for the roof structure soon. I believe the supports run down to what look like little balconies off the fourth level. Neat stuff.

I think that farmer south of the #1 will take any and all soil that's brought to his land. His poor farm has been flooded for years.

There is a country residential subdivision planned on that land. Also there is a new drainage canal that flow under Highway 1 that flows continuously into the Harbour landing storm channel . At least it keeps the water fresh fro Harbour Landing.

Possible names for a residential subdivision south of #1:
- the Bayou?
- Venice Landing?
- Atlantis View?

I assume any houses built in this subdivision would need to be built like this? No basement, garage on the bottom.

Nah, proper piles, footings, basement waterproofing/sealing, adequate drainage with weeping tile, 32mpa Concrete and a sump. Shouldn't be a problem if done correctly, with the ground height being brought up, the water table will likely have be lower than Harbour Landing. Disclaimer: I'm not an engineer.

There's that, and now that there is drainage through the area the "Lake" Shouldn't be as much of an issue. As long as they leave enough of low "drainage" area to accommodate large rains / runoff from snow they should be OK.

BUT proper construction and deep piles will make a big difference. No spread footings should be allowed.

Now back to topic... Stadium Stuff

When the planes do fly-bys at the new stadium I suspect they will be going South to North.

Nice video comparison of the two stadium though!
