Reading today's Atlanta Business Chronicle was really uplifting. It seems that MARTA is finally taking the right steps to enhance the system. When one adds in the possibility of the Clifton rail extension, the Streetcar and the Beltline, you can really see a truly useful transit system growing right before our eyes. Keith Parker's vision has been a true treasure for MARTA.

MARTA chooses route for North Line extension.
MARTA has chosen a route for its planned extension of public transit north to Alpharetta amid growing support for transit in Atlanta’s northern suburbs.
A poll of residents and employees along the Georgia 400 corridor conducted last year for MARTA by Kennesaw State University found strong support for extending MARTA’s heavy rail line 12 miles from the North Springs station to Windward Parkway.

MARTA adding 2 more stations to development plan.
Two years into its plans to put more residential units and retail space around its train stations, MARTA continues to expand its transit oriented development program.
MARTA officials are targeting May 4 for the release of its latest request for proposals, this time for a mix of residential and retail development on 6 acres surrounding its Arts Center Station.
MARTA would also issue an RFP for its Oakland City station later this summer, officials said.
