Dmajackson has a couple of new pictures for Icon Bay - http://urbanhalifax.tumblr.com/. It is good to see that Dmajackson can get through the snow banks for some updates.

This project is really going up quickly. It looks like they might be to the top floor within the next 3 - 4 months.

A. W. Leil has a crane on site, I suspect the smaller tower crane will come down this weekend, I think the tower is at the height that the boom would soon hit the structure if left to weather vane at night.

How many stories is the tower now kph06? Is it much taller than in the pictures posted by Dmajackson on March 22nd - http://urbanhalifax.tumblr.com/tagged/IconBayHalifax? Has more glass been installed?

I hope you will excuse all the questions but we don't seem to get many updates on this one, maybe because it is off the peninsula.

I would say it's another 2 or 3 floors taller than that photo. I should take a couple photos, I drive by it almost every day. It is progressing well, more glass has been installed too. The small crane is still up, but the counterweights and hook have been removed, so the dismantling is imminent.

Thanks for all the information. It would be great to see an up to date picture.

Is that podium all parking? It looks huge and ugly from this angle, though admittedly probably few will see this perspective regularly.

We have completed level 1200 and are preparing to pour 1300 this week. Up is a good direction. Especially after the winter we had!

I think I can pull myself away for a few minutes to snap some photos! But, I can't guarantee it!

Yes, the little crane came down yesterday. It was basically all done by 3:00 pm. Exciting to see it go!

Yes, the majority of space in the podium will be parking. It takes alot of space to house enough cars for 188 units. Once dressed, I'm sure it won't look so "huge and ugly," as you put it, but time will tell.

I'm tending to believe that it will look just fine, especially from the Bedford Highway, where most people will be viewing it from (hopefully as passengers and not while driving...lol).

It can't be expected for people to sell off their cars or park them elsewhere just because they live in a highrise. Therefore, you have to provide parking for them. Makes perfect sense.

Thanks for the updates! A few more pics would be appreciated, as even though I pass by there on a regular basis I'm looking at the road ahead and the traffic around me, so I don't get to have a good look at the building...

Thanks for the update, it's great having developer's post, your insight is far more interesting than me babbling about suspected crane movements.

Are there plans for the next project once this one nearing completion?

I enjoy reading the conversation. I usually only chime in when something catches my attention, but other than that, most of the posts are usually pretty accurate.

We do have some stuff on the go for when this project completes, but we are still very early in the planning stage to really start giving out details.

Perhaps, in the next while, I will post some floor plans of Icon Bay so that readers can see the units, layouts and common areas. It'll also be entertainment for me reading all the comments and hearing different opinions!

I think it looks impressive already... and the quality of the glass looks good. Definitely the type of development that will add density to these areas that are just off of the peninsula.
