I wish they would take 6 floors off of the shorter tower and add them to this one. Still going to be a great addition to the skyline regardless

It's interesting how the core for the first few floors dominates the heritage buildings surrounding it already lol.

With this gone, the last real void in the core is the Oxford site, then every little lot and underutilized building and parkade is fair game. Maybe next cycle we'll see some slim supertalls like NY lol dare to dream.

There is also that empty large portion of the lot NW of 6th. Ave. & 2nd St. SW (west of BVS).
Haven't seen anything ever proposed or rumored there since the 1980's. Would have thought something would get proposed there, it's so central - wonder who owns it?

Is the core huge relative to the size of the building (compared to EAP) or is it just me?

Jay in Cowtown: You haven't been around for a while..... And yes, I also wish they'd lop off a few floors off of tower #2 and add to this one would make it 64-65 floors!!

Craner : I thought that years ago (maybe a decade?) that epcor was going to expand their office next door to that lot, was the lot not included in the expansion?

^ I thought it was just a vertical expansion and reno of the existing Epcor building - that's what I recall anyway.

Is the core going up to house just the elevator shaft? Seems rather large.

The core houses three banks of ten elevators for low mid and high as well as bathrooms emergency stair wells and utilities.

Yeah looks like it. EAP2 seemed like a blur for me, happened so fast. With this being the same kind of construction, could see it quickly rise.

So it's housing almost all the common area. Makes a lot more sense, thank you for the clarification.

Was just thinking looking at the pictures with the steel starting that this is going to go fast now. Just like EAP, it will be making an impact before we know it.

I would think that the building core would shrink as it gets taller.

Or just add 30 to the shorter tower

RWin: Even a height fanatic like myself, unfortunately knows that an extra 30 floors would put the project well past the 2.4 million sq. ft. for the site! But as far as I'm concerned tower #2 could be 76 floors and I would be extremely happy!!
