I mean, it is nice to live in a sleek building like One Wall Center is, but the lack of a balcony or a patio is a big minus in my books. There are surprisingly many days a year it would be nice to enjoy some small outdoors space and it would be fantastic for taking photos vs. through triple-glaze windows.

My place in Toronto currently does not have a balcony, and even in this climate I hate it. No BBQs in the summer, can't even check the temp in the mornings before I go to work. It doesn't seem like a big deal when you're appt shopping but the disconnect it creates by never being able to open your place up to the outdoors is huge.

Why did you guys buy/rent a condo without a balcony in the first place? I used to have a balcony and got tired of all the cleaning (kept too many plants!) and now live in a suite without one: very happy at that, although sometimes I do miss being able to walk out for some air, especially in the summer.

Honestly, I got desperate because I was too picky when first apartment hunting and was running out of term on my existing place. In the market for a new one with balcony though.

And everyone is going to have different taste, some people have no need for a balcony and that's fine. I'd imagine the majority do prefer a balcony though, and that's why they are so prevalent, even in climates like Calgary and Toronto where they are useless for 6 or 7 months of the year.

I'd never buy a condo without a balcony. I need to be able to go outside every so often, and don't want to leave my suite. Also having a BBQ is mission critical for me. I don't smoke but some of my friends do, so it's nice to have a place for them too.

Just to have a private area you can go outside for fresh air even for a minute is important for me! My last 2 places didn't have any outdoor area. I hated it! Now I have multiple decks overlooking english bay and I love it, I use them daily.

Development Permit from City approved! The tallest tower is now named "Skyfront", I think. Burrard Place is the overall project.
Skyfront when completed will be the 3rd tallest downtown after Shangri-la and Trump.

Stopped by Musette Caffe yesterday and noticed that work is underway on the old Pattison Toyota building, likely turning it into a Presentation Centre. And speaking of Musette, they are there until the end of the summer, so no demo or excavation until September.
