Also with the Regina stadium... As I was driving by the othed day, I could see the curve in the edge of the top tier of the sideline seating forming; very neat to see that progress.

Wagner over at the Red Patch Boys Forum has posted some great pics of BMO Field. Lots of work to do to finish by the end of the month, but sounds like they are working 24 hours a day to finish

It's a great little arena as well. It's bare bones on the inside but it gives you the feeling your back at Maple Leaf Gardens. Unfortunately food and drink is about as expensive as a game at the ACC. It has direct TTC streetcar and GO Train access as well.

Im sure technology has come far enough the the glare can be mitigated at Rogers centre with a translucent roof. That would breath life into rogers centre. People would love that place again. It needs a 500M renovation

Those are field level seats only that would be no use during a CFL game

While looking for the photo for that last post, I found this old photo of Olympic Stadium when it must have been brand new. If they really want to keep that thing going in Montreal, they really should rip that depressing lid off the place and let the sun shine in. It actually looks like an appealing place to be in this photo:

Removing the roof would only make it less depressing. It would still feel cavernous and dated and would still be horrible for football/baseball/soccer.

No more money/effort should be spent towards this place.

Can't they find an investor to spend $1 to buy the place and turn it into something else?

You are absolutely correct. Dynamite is the only proper remedy for what ails that stadium. In the interim though, they can brighten it up with some lovely natural light.

Maybe they should call the guy in Ontario who bought the Silverdome and see if he wants to buy the Big O? Perfect way to start up the world's only two-team international football or soccer league! (Assuming that the Silverdome hasn't been condemned yet)

I went to a ton of events in that stadium before the roof was finally put on it.

Even on a warm sunny day it could still be very cool in the shade under the huge overhangs. And they shade the vast majority of the seating areas.

It can't be imploded. Needs to be taken apart piece by piece. very costly.
