Agreed, but both downtown highrise projects are adding a fair bit of height relatively speaking. They are also big steps in downtown's continued revitalization. Also, the ones in downtown Kitchener are NOT commie blocks. We save those for Waterloo's university district.

Still one of the best skyline shots of KW that I have seen posted.

I think that's about as many cranes as in all of Hamilton.

That second Sherbrooke shot is gorgeous.

Purdy's Wharf is aging really well.

In my opinion, Halifax has the benefit on an ocean front and large bridges so it is unfair to compare.
Now that Aliant is moving to a new location from the gray building far left, the entire top floor should be picked up by NS tourism. The whole floor could be an observation space. Windows could open with a screen barrier. A restaurant would be a great addition and interpretive space would be a great promotion. If funds allowed, roof top observation could be incorporated. The fee for access to the observation floor would go a long way in covering lease charges.

The Cunard block plan includes an upper floor surrounded by glass curtain walls. I wonder what that space will be used for? It will have panoramic views of the downtown area, harbour, and open Atlantic. And apparently a rooftop pool.

Here's a more recent aerial photo. I think the one above is from 2009 or so.

Dartmouth has a mini skyline too. It might have the tallest buildings in the city in a few years. The latest King's Wharf plans had towers going up to something like 42 floors.

It looks like Halifax has a lot of mini-skylines scattered about.
