That's a fantastic view! Can you keep us updated every now and then as 1BE rises?

How did the Bank of Montreal get the added height? Or is it an optical illusion?

I think you may be referring to the Four Seasons tower in Yorkdale! You can barely see First Canadian Place in that shot. They have a similar profile, although the former is entirely blue glass.

Boy, I'm out of the loop -Yorkville - Four Seasons, with the Manulife apartments framing it.

I love that colourful Vancouver pic. It's usually bluer; it looks great in real colour.

I don't think I have ever seen the local mountains that bare of snow this time of the year, this is usually the peak of the snow pack.

It must be one of the shortest / worst ski seasons ever (top 5 for sure).

Really surprised I haven't really seen any stories about it on this forum or the weather network.

funny you say that because i was thinking that photo is probably the best true representation of colours in the skyline. kinda dispels the myth that vancouver is all 'green glass towers'.

in reality, the only area in vancouver that has green glass condos is in coal harbour and from i've read, that's by design. the city wanted a seamless transition between stanley park and downtown, hence the predominance of green coloured glass in the area.

Same with Banff, they're just praying for snow. Thankfully they got some last weekend.

Colors in that Vancouver panorama taken from the hospital are not that true IMO and the photo has both been squished and enhanced quite a lot. The color of the sky and the mountains are way too warm and thus don't appear as blue as in reality.

But I know what other Vancouverites mean and I completely agree that the general perception of Yaletown and Vancouver's generic green glass architecture are both largely driven by certain views repeating very often in photos. There is actually a lot of variation in what we have in here, but we could certainly do with much more.

I do like the placement of buildings in that panorama, though.
