you can usually find 13+ at winners, they just don't have signage so you have to look at the end of the sizes i think 13 is the last size they have a sign for on the racks - i've seen size 17 before

With huge amounts of big floorplate space coming available in Richmond (Sears @ Richmond Centre; Target @ Lansdowne), you wonder who's going to move in?

London Drugs is a logical choice for at least part of the Target space, their current location at #3 & Westminster is a nightmare for vehicle access/parking. I doubt that they'd need the whole space though (2 floors, don't forget).

Also, with the amount of retail space being added in S. Delta, one has to wonder where all the tenants for the CRUs will come from.

The landlord for Richmond Centre would have a plan for the Sears space (the lease was bought back by the landlord, like Pacific Centre, etc.) - just that nothing has been announced yet.

I wonder how many of the two floor mall Targets will be reno'ed to become two single floor stores. I was talking with a friend and we were trying to list stores that could fill out that much space - and it was a really short list. Of course it sucks for any location that's a stand alone big box 'cause how will that be divided up without being stupidly expensive.

I would too as the one a few blocks away is tiny. But I can't see them taking both floors.

Metrotown has reno'ed before, admittedly at the other end of the mall. Where Bretton's used to be is now Chapters and Old Navy, and Eaton's became a hallway lined with stores. I think just cutting it into two single floor stores is the more likely reno as it's less work. Plus then there would still be a couple larger format stores at that end along with the Bay after Sears either dies or becomes it's own retail / office / residential complex.

Has anyone heard any news about Home Outfitters? I'm pretty sure the one in Metrotown is closing.

The next store shutting down could be the Chapters on Broadway and Granville... Along Broadway alone, Toys R Us and Sony have already closed down

A lot of shops and beauty services on Robson are all getting replaced by either restaurants or bubble tea cafes.

There's a "For Lease" sign on Vancouver Centre - for retail or office space .
I figure it's for the former Vancouver Centre Theatres space upstairs above London Drugs that is/was occupied by an ESL school.
It could fit a reasonably big retailer (in window-less space).

I wonder how much they'd renovate - i.e. for Uniqlo?

Not sure where you got your info but Toys R Us on Broadway is alive and well, as is the Babies R Us next door to it.

WRT Chapters, not a chance of it closing at Broadway & Granville, it's their best western Cdn. performer and is always packed. They're also temporarily relocating the American Girl concession from the soon-to-close Robson store to that location for at least the next year until they secure space in which to reopen a downtown location.

Here's a pic of the space at Vancouver Centre - entrance to the right of Starbucks via escalators.

I wonder if they would consider enclosing that plaza above Starbucks?

I hate that corner and that useless (now closed) plaza. It would be great if they could redo the exterior. It would be really nice if Starbucks closed and it could be turned into a two storey retail space.

That's one of the busiest Starbucks in Canada, so quite doubtful it would close.

I always thought that HO was in a poor location away from high traffic...
