What I'm wondering now is what will be done with that large gaping hole in the façade of the Bay when they remove the western overpass? I kinda want to see the Bay evacuate that building, so it can become it's own entity (Saks 5th ave? Uni-Qlo? Top Shop? etc...); then the Bay can concentrate on properly renovating the Freimans Building.

Same, happy with the news that the West Skywalk will be demolished while the East Skywalk will be re-furbished.
I had the same thought about the gaping hole in the Freiman's heritage façade. They could just place a logo in there, either Hudson Bay's or Saks' in the off chance they move to Ottawa. With Holt now closed, there's an opportunity to fill the void.
To put in my 2 cents on
c_speed3108 comment, I would have liked one or two underground walkways between north and south Rideau (maybe old food court area to HBC and Ogilvy to William Street subway entrance).
