Yes, Joshpabstphoto - that's a very nice golden-hour pic, & the slow-shutter auto headlights are a great touch IMHO. Keep up the good work!

Welcome Josh and A&K!! It would be great if another skyscraper wall is developed like on the north side of the park. I don't think chicagos main skyline will change too much, but it will stretch farther southward, westward, and northward.

Just wondering if we've had (will have) any official high-rise construction starts in January......anyone spot movement at GEMS II? (as of a week ago, there was no activity on the site) The other potential one I can think of - and LVDW's photo from Skybridge last week reminded of it, as it will soon be rising in the foreground from that vantage point - is the 108 N Jefferson hotel project, where I think there was some site prep work going on in the last month or two. Any foundation equipment show up there yet?

It takes up 1/2 the parcel. It is on the corner of Roosevelt and Indiana.

As far as the design - I think Ardelicas description that it looks like a slightly shorter sears tower is pretty accurate. It has many slender square terminations... over a dozen. First termination is around the 30th floor. It is all right corners - no curves. Slightly A-symmetrical massing. Long vertical cladding strips that seem to have at least 2 variations that are in large vertical blocks. It appears the side facing the park has a flat face and no step backs on that side. Very cool profile. There is no info on the color of cladding or windows.

I think it makes sense for the southern face to have the staggered-height effect, in order to take advantage of amount of sunlight - Assuming these are condos and not rental, then it would be a no-brainer to charge more for those corner units where the staggering occurs. Nice design, if this is actually pretty close to the real deal.

I get what you're saying about the south wall taking advantage of the sunlight, I kinda wish this was the north wall facing grant park, or even the east, just so when looking south at the park it's not just a flat wall all the way up. Plus from a financial standpoint, you could charge exorbitant prices for such large and private green space facing the park. I guess it's moot since Arm&Kedzie said ". Right Track for sure, the top termination is a bit narrower. The base of the tower is more rectangular with a semi-podium '🞵🞵🞵🞵' sticking out towards the south. The terminations are more stretched out over the height of the building and not clustered quite as high. Basically stretch your model and add a '🞵🞵🞵🞵' and you got it.

Also what I thought was two different claddings.. upon closer inspection looks to be large blocks of recessed balconies.(not positive about this).

It looks like most of the terminations/ roof terraces are on the South and West sides of the building.

When looking at the building from grant park it has terminations on the sides so it's not a big heavy rectangle.

I see my services aren't needed here, haha. Steely's totally got this, he's basically got everything in the description. In any case, this description sure is intriguing to me. I really like 432 Park and if this has the same quality, but minimalist, detailing as Park then consider me sold.

That was my thought exactly! That the terminations should be on the north part. Not only more visually appealing from "Chicago's front yard" but also that having a green space facing the park would cost the consumer more. Seems like a win/win scenario to me.

Agreed. If it comes out like this, it could be a great addition to the park wall.
