Is that the church that's on the west side of Monaco near Crestmoor Park? That church has been there forever it seems.

I presume it's not the number of stories so much as they just would prefer not to have apartments, period. Townhomes probably would have been preferable to them and could have worked.
But with the park right there, it's an ideal parcel for apartments and 100 units is not that much. As I recall that park could use some neighbors that would enjoy it.

Some deals are better than others but his one was definitely a very good one. Admittedly due to market uncertainties it has been and up and down affair. After announcing its first factory in Pueblo CO in 2007 Vestas Wind Systems now has four factories in Colorado. Cathy Proctor at DBJ has an updated story HERE.

Vestas, based in Denmark, has four manufacturing plants in Colorado that make blades, towers and the nacelles — or housing units — at the top of the towers. The company has said it expected to have more than 2,000 workers in the state by the end of 2014 after a flood of manufacturing orders for wind turbines in 2013 and 2014

One interesting item of note is that renewable energy squishy friendly states like Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas have competed among themselves for business by offering nice state incentives for wind energy. It's always a bit humorous to compare what politicians may say along the campaign trail to what they later decide would be good for their own state.

Even though the developer may have decided to pull the web page, it seems that this project is moving forward (at the city's building department) as for I see it listed in the last couple of Den.gov Project Status Report posted on the web here:

I think that this is basically good news and increases that likelihood that this project so start going upward.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, then it's a rather hideous building anyway. Agree that it's a great place for apartments. But the streets around that area need an upgrade. I drive through there (Monaco or Quebec heading south) and it's gridlock already at 7 a.m.

I think the webpage and rendering was from GE Johnson the contractor/builder, not the developer East West.

Most of the parking lot for Skyhouse is now torn up. On a related note, can someone tell me why it's taking so long to renovate the Brown Palace exterior? It's been at least 2 years.

Stonemans rowJ... I would guess they're optimistic of a condo defects law change. Presumably politicos are working hard on what could be passed out of the House that would accomplish what is needed. I can't believe it's that heavy of a lift at this point to get something passed. It's just a matter of what exactly? With House approval the rest should be a breeze, I'd think.

It would be nice if with the next round of bond approval funding they'd do over/under's at Monaco & Alameda and Monaco & Leetsdale. All three of those streets are big commuter routes as opposed to Colorado Blvd. (for example) which is a hopeless business Street.

For what its worth, Callahan Capital Partners has updated their website and they included renderings of the new Two Tabor Center design. However, it still lists it as a 43 story tower, not 31 stories as currently planned.

Investors are short-sighted. As long as the economic models kicks backs the preferential NPV and IRR you can pile on excessive piles of bullshit elsewhere.

Though if the Auraria Campus was that close to the forest and mountains, it would be an instant contender for best looking campus in Colorado.
