Indeed. Going out on the roof at dawn with the sun rising on the bank towers... that was sooooo amazing!

Quite a select part of Brossard. My wife's cousin lives in one of the McMansions displayed in that photograph.

Here's a shot by flar similar to the one posted above from a different angle and showing more of the eastern side of downtown.

Indeed. It's worth noting that it's a couple years old. Lots of big towers missing.

Fascinating how you could crop out just about any section of the skyline and it'd still look like a big city.

Incredible Toronto shots. I like how the cityplace and cityplace-like condos are absent!

Is that area in the foreground what people are talking about when they say North York?

Also, is it just perspective, or does that street heading downtown get narrower immediately after the towers in the foreground?

That is what I could call the skyline of a metropolis.

That's some pretty serious compression no? Hanging out around Eglington North York looked way further than that (as did Downtown).

Yeah, that's North York. Specifically, North York Centre. Before being amalgamated into Toronto it covered some 176 sqkm and 655,000 people, but now when someone says "North York" it's usually meant to refer to just that little area there. Scarborough and Etobicoke on the other hand are still meant to mean the same thing in people's minds as they did before on the ground - probably because their boundaries are a little less ambiguous, but also because they've always just been a little less connected to the core, physically and culturally.

And yeah, the road (Yonge St.) narrows. Not immediately after the towers, but slightly further down. As can be seen there it's 6 lanes + turning lane through NYCC, while south of that it becomes a more typical 4 lane pre-war street.

Looking at those Calgary photos, I can't help but think after looking at FCCI what the 64 story FCCII would have been! That would have been something.

Agreed. It would have been a monster, a perfect peak right in the middle of the skyline.
