^A shot that can be contemplated for a lengthy period of time, with a nice coffee. Gazing over the foreground, the grit and the great, the little glass pyramids on the older building marking fire escape stairwells, imagining the temperature, oh and there is a big city skyline way in the background.

Not to mention that gorgeous "vintage" water tower. Every big town should have a few of those in its skyline.

If the Roccabella & co. were higher or topped-out it would nicely fill out the gap in the middle and make an even stronger skyline. Still epic though.

That Montreal picture. Even though it looks cold, it gives me the warm fuzzies all over.

^ Very cool! I don't think I've seen pics of downtown Edmonton taken from that place before.

A new bridge will be going up just to the east of it - you can see construction equipment just above the river.

I often like shots of Edmonton's skyline like this one above a bit better than those overused shots taken from the southeast within the river valley.

This is because one can see that Manulife Place is the tallest by roof height. (Yes, I know the Epcor Tower is taller by mast height, but it's often either hidden or poorly visible), and not Telus House, as so many other shots of Edmonton's skyline would lead you to believe. Keep in mind that was the result of the now-obsolete height restrictions which were in place before City Centre Airport shut down.

Edmonton reminds me of pre-condo boom Toronto. Maybe their boom that's starting up will let them continue to look like a smaller Toronto.

Sadly the Ottawa and Hamilton skylines look very similar both not being very high, being more "table-topped" and having several 70s and 80s commi-block apartment buildings

Hamilton is a lot less table topped, mostly due to all the gaps.

It's easy to notice how Montreal is not a city of very high buildings outside of downtown. I just don't care, all that density is doing an awesome job actually.
Someone said once on that forum : If she could, Montreal would have been able to be Berlin (or another equivalent )

Terrible news. Edmonton is the last city that can afford to lose a grand old structure. It's one of the few things that give Edmonton a semblance of character and charm.
