It is. Most Edmonton skyline shots are taken from the other side of the valley, this one just has an interesting perspective as it focuses mostly on the brutalist skyscrapers on the eastern side of downtown, with Telus Field in the foreground. I love it

That's because it's stretch East-West more than North-South. So dependong on the angle, let's say from the West, it doesn't look that dense because many towers are hidden.
