Could you label which photos are of Vancouver and which ones are of North York? It's so hard to tell them apart.

Travis is a known booster, why r u guys so worked up with all those pictures lol. Vancouver has like the least linear skyline in the country and looks long in every direction.

In no way does Vancouver's skyline look like North York's.

Meh. We're just having some fun. I'm about as serious as Travis is.

Sometimes people get high and say something silly. It's the weekend after all.

Kinda surprised anyone would even dignify that North York comment with a response.

More like ridicule. But you are quite right; such a comment is beneath even ridicule.

Prometheus, you should repost those photos in their own thread in the city photos forum, that's seriously one of the best collections of Vancouver photos I've seen here.

Yet clearly it was worthy enough to require 80 photos in response to it...

A bit excessive, especially some of the black and white ones at the end. However, I have to say, those are some of the best Vancouver photos I've ever seen. I've never been a big fan of the skyline (I rank it third, maybe fourth behind Calgary) but those shots show so much variety and layers in the architecture.

I know right.

And yes, those pictures were indeed pretty sweet.

Me. Just not in this thread...

*****

I wouldn't get upset about the North York comment - it's just a curt comparison, not meant to be a thesis or worth having a fit over. And it's a little true to the extent, I assume, it was meant - that VAN has lots of those generic towers but, in many shots, not much muscular bulk or unique presence.

Obviously, that's not the reality if you live there...

It's like people who think we look like a northern reserve. There's aspects of that - rundown homes, power lines, ancient cars, certain lifestyle comparisons.

It's not the universal reality, but it's easy enough to see how someone from Oakville could see pictures from certain parts of town here and want to set up a charity to make sure we have enough to eat.

*****

And gorgeous VAN shots! Impressed with the amount of old.

The forum is open to anyone to post. Don't fault those who do.
