Windsor's downtown looks very small for a metro of ~350,000.

That black & white was one of the best Calgary shots I've ever seen.

Ya, Windsor has had a tough go of it but the city has a very nice stock of beautiful older buildings and houses and the city has a real character about it.

The entire built environment in that picture looked too polished and organized for Iqaluit. Yellowknife can still have greenery and a more complete built urban environment because it still has somewhat hospitable weather for about 5 months of the year.

That pic only shows the central part of DT, the west and east sides are not visible. I agree though, our DT has struggled for a long time, and our city is not really an office type of city, so developement is tougher to encourage. Things are changing though, so I am hopeful that we will get more investment and residential coming to the core in the near future. Also the rise of Detroit will also help Windsor and the whole region grow and hopefully flourish again.

^^ I think it has to do with the region too. Ontario cities (even the larger ones) seem to be administered from Toronto. Based on skyline, I'd conclude the London, Windsor, KW, St. Catharines-Niagara, and Oshawa were far smaller than Halifax and Victoria, but they're not. Even Regina's skyline compares favourably to these Ontario cities.

Towns in Greenland always seem to have far more appealing looking buildings than their counterparts in northern Canada. I guess it comes down to Danish culture vs. Canadian. Their design sense is far more refined and sophisticated than ours and it even manifests itself in remote northern communities. Even going from the Maritimes to New England or northern Ontario to northern Minnesota it's immediately noticeable. Everything is just that little bit cuter/nicer south of the border. Even the stuff at the malls.

We're always so weak in this area. Why is that? It's like our eyes don't work.

It's surely KW and Oshawa. Then Windsor, London, St. John's, and Sherbrooke. Below 200,000 and there's usually not much demand for high rises so it gets a little pointless looking at CMAs below that.

I see this skyline everyday from my bus. From Laval it looks amazing (in my opinion). It's hard to find a good picture of it...
