The part above ground is obviously where the tower overlaps the theater.
Since the north end of the tower meets the sidewalk, I wonder when and how they'll meld that part with what's rising already. (Any hardhats in the house?) ((building?))

It looks like the elevator core is just being built for the the theater right now. What's the hold up with 111?!

They should move the homeless shelter to the former Cottonwood Mall site.

As far as I can tell there is no hold up. That elevator core is for the tower. The steel beams to its south is part of the theater, Infact, part of the tower (around the six or seventh floor ) will hang over where those beams are.

I think we should keep the capital building and all the public schools open 24/7 and let them stay there. I also think that we should run trax 24/7 and give them a free passes so they can stay on there too.

If you go look at the foundation and everything you can clearly tell that is the core for 111.

And also... ..this project is coming together fast. I bet the tower starts rising pretty quick.

I wonder if they are ahead of schedule. 111 could take more time...I could seriously see the performing arts center being completed by summer-fall of 2015... I guess it really depends on the quality of finishing....the main structure will certainly be done before to long.... Perhaps they want to wait till the tower is complete to open the whol thing.... It's got to be early 2016 though.

Guys, the elevator core is also for the theater. If the tower was ready to begin, then wouldn't we would also be seeing steel rise above street level on the 111 site?

You can tell what's going on by going to the corner of 100s and main and looking over the fence. The core is quite a bit above street level... Once they get to a certainly point with that you will start to see the outside perimeter of the building rise... I'm not 100% but I think the elivator and stairs in the core only have to be reinforced concrete up to a certain level and then they can switch to cinderblock.... Witch will go much faster... I could be wrong on that.... I'll go by there today day and see what it looks like... UPAC may share elevators but they are defiantly at the core of 111... You can tell by looking at the foundation.

In the blueprint for the UPAC, there are two elevators, one on the north side, and one on the south side. Look at page 27 of this PDF: http://www.slcrda.com/meetingsmin/2013/BOD/031913/9CUPACUpdate.pdf

The elevator core going up is for 111.

I promise you... you don't even need plans to see that that is the core for one on one

I think they have more work to do on the northwest part of the core but once they are done they can start putting steel in the northwest and get working on height.

Side note, brickwork is done (except for maybe the south columns) on SJQuinney and I think some of the bio mimicry glass is being installed.

I think once they get concrete poured around all the rebar and the scaffolding moves up... Then they will start building out the perimeter from the base

Don't post here much but check the forum every few weeks looking for info on the CCH. Question for all you experts, do you think Omni going into the Salt Lake and Park City markets at relatively the same time will lead to a smaller CCH? I really don't know much about development but it seems with both markets being so close it would lead to building a hotel with fewer rooms so as not to canabalize their own business during non convention times. I hope this isn't the case.

SLC and Park City serve entirely different markets and hotels in both locations would definitely not cannibalize each other.
