After watching the video of the interior I'm not too sure how I feel about this. The Biodome is one of my fondest childhood memories. I loved walking above the crocodiles in the jungle and seeing a lynx in the Canadian wilds. I'm not sure if those areas simply weren't shown, or if they are essentially doing away with the best parts of the building to build projection screens.

For me the success of this will depend entirely on how much of the real animal enclosures are left vs these sterile white art gallery walls.

The 13th floor superstition had left Toronto and others decades ago. It is now a product of the Asian superstition.


It is stupid as the legal description on any documents will still list the unit on the 4th level.

100% agree. I feel like this could be achieved anywhere. It's nice to have tropical spaces in our cities to visit in the dead of winter.

Many new builds still skip the 13th floor and only a handful of developers depending on the area skip the dreaded 4's. There should be laws out there that state these numbers have to be used. It's a little ridiculous. In CityPlace if you live on the 52nd floor you actually only live on the 46th floor.

I've been in many towers. The only ones younger than 20 to 25 years that skip 13 are usually the same as those that skip the 4's. The handful of developers account for a lot of condo towers in the GTA.

Top of my head Liberty Development, Concord, Pemberton skip the 13s and 4s

Tridel, Menkes, Monarch skip nothing

Diamante skips the 13th only

I'm not worried at all. The purpose of the Biodome is to be an interior mini-zoo, why would they remove any exhibits/animals? It needs to be renovated.
