lol, it's funny, those were literally the only 2 nice looking Canadian brutalist projects that came to mind when I wrote that, and like clockwork someone mentions them! Proving once again that bar a couple exceptions, brutalism is sh!te.

Baker looks like a mini Mt Fuji in that shot above.

That's the East Bayfront, one of the places with all the Waterfront Toronto proposals lately.

Silos, common around ports. We have about five of those near Old Montreal and don't know what to do with them...

On the other side of the Central Waterfront is the Canada Malting Silos which have been somewhat included in the overall waterfront and Eireann Quay.

The Bow is the best designed building in Canada... I believe. It looses points big-time with me because of it's width! Also, A little more height to make up for the narrower floors... if it would have gone that way. Part of that was directly the result (I believe) of the Silly Shadowing by-law!

Gorgeous Vancouver pictures.

As a native Montrealer, PVM is far from my favorite. It is still an iconic structure. Not ugly (Rather serene if seen up close...looks much better right up next to it than afar). It just takes up proportionately too much space (width) on the Montreal skyline. In this respect, rather like the Bow in Calgary. Nice building for sure, but too bulky for its height.

My favorite International style skyscraper in Canada is the CIBC tower in Montreal (lines, exquisite proportions), followed by the TD Centre (set) in Toronto.
