The lagging boards can remain. The gap between the perimeter wall and the lagging boards might receive a drainage system at the bottom of the wall then backfilled with stone and then structured soil on top. Perhaps the top so many ft /m of the shoring system would be removed. I am on project which used the mentioned method.
