"highway" means nothing in Vancouver. I'm near Mountain Hwy and it's just a moderately busy one lane street.

The OCP for brentwood used to include a pedestrian overpass over Wilingdon at Buchanan, which would have entered the brentwood mall site about the same place as the old bus loop. But I think that is gone now. And the original application for Solo also had a pedestrian overpass included half way down Willingdon between Lougheed and Dawson, but that requirement was eliminated by Burnaby as the process went on. Are they planning anything at the actual intersection?? I doubt it.

Maybe Lougheed Way???
Arterials that are still called "highways" are historical leftovers.

Maybe follow Surrey's King George lead and change "Highway" to "Boulevard".

I suppose the argument is that long haul traffic should take the improved Highway 1 route, not Lougheed Highway.

Here's an update on the sales of the Brentwood Two tower. The VIP sales began last Saturday.

I've been observing the redevelopment of Brentwood and Station Square since the beginning and I would like to know from the SSP:Vancouver community--do you think the big developments in Burnaby have enough office towers, or is it skewed towards condos too much?

Personally, I think there should be more office towers. Metrotower III is a good start, but it's not enough. Office space near a Skytrain station, instead of way out in business parks (Big Bend, Still Creek, Canada Way) where you would need a car, will attract more young people to the burbs.

Of course, that would be common sense.

Problem with that is cost. Land around SkyTrain is a lot more expensive and building towers is a lot more expensive than building low-rise office buildings in the middle of nowhere. That translate to higher rents which many companies are either not willing or unable to pay for office space.

The market cannot be expected to supply an infinite amount of demand for office space. There's a reason why you see more condos being built than office space: demand.

Wow! Am I interpreting this correctly? Almost all 500 units have sold in the first couple of days of sales? If that's the case, that is unreal!

No, the picture is a bit blurry... I calculated that only 320 units are already sold out of 563. So, only about 57% of the units are actually sold.

the sales photo is deceiving, it doesn't show that there are three or four colours on that board. according to sales persons they are just about 50% on the second tower which is still pretty damn good.

The photo that I took is deceiving, the 2-bedroom units are colored red, but they are not necessarily sold. Only red color with 'SOLD' are actually sold. Like I said earlier, I calculated and there were only 320 units sold out of 563 as of Tuesday night. I will retake another picture this weekend in the afternoon for better clarity.

Over 50% sold in under a week is still remarkable.
