I'm really impressed by the phasing of this project - the way the proceeded slowly up the existing tower and moved occupants in and out. The new portion looks great as does the resurfaced tower. All this is very good, but... I don't love the two-tone green and blue. It looks like two completely different buildings. I don't know why this choice was made. Maybe it will look better completed.

Yeah. I hear you. I have been really enjoying this being put up but the closer it gets to finished, the more I keep thinking "dog's breakfast". I hope the rest of the finishing touches will tie it all together but I don't get why they would strip the reflective glass off the old portion only to put it on the new. Or is that an optical illusion. Here's hoping the finished product will look tied together.

What do you mean? All the glass has been replaced with new glass?

At first I wasn't sure about the green/blue glass combo, but now I think it ties all of our glass colours together in the city. We primarily have blue or green glass and this building embodies that style... just like we typically have red and beige brick as another motif.

Halifax is looking good! I think it will be one of the most attractive cities in Canada after the completion of Nova Centre, YMCA, The Roy, The Maple, The Alexander, The Sister Sites, Fenwick redevelopment, and followed up by the next wave of developments.

I think the TD Centre turned out better than expected and moved quickly as well.

Yes, the entire curtain wall on the original tower was removed and replaced.
The new one is better then the old.

What I meant was that the old part had its original reflective glass taken off and replaced by transparent glass. OK fine. They didn't want reflective glass. But then the new portion went up and what does it get? Reflective glass. After they just rejected it on the old part.
I agree that Hfx is really coming along and I love almost everything I see. I am just a bit mystified about how this one is going to tie together. I hope a nice roof element will do the trick.

The different glass types are separated by metal areas... the old glass was reflective, but messed up. The new transparent glass is also partially reflective... I think the goal was to give it a different look from different angles.

I think it looks good, ties styles of surround buildings (Waterside Centre, 1801 Hollis) together.

From yesterday. The cladding on the last portion is almost done. Also of note is the new ugly cladding going on the top level of Plaza. I had such high hopes based on what was happening at ground level.

Nevermind... I see the TD in the background there now.. LOL. And yes I agree, the top of the Plaza looks awful. In fact, all that brick could go too.

I was puzzled, looking for cladding on the top of the TD building rather than the one right smack in the foreground.
