This is awesome, guys. Thanks for the work in getting these pics uploaded! I can't express how happy I am that the old faceless wall of that building is gone. This, apparently, is how you get permission to build height in the downtown.

New angle, from June 27. The expanded TD has now surpassed the height of its neighbours.

I got to see this in person a few weeks ago and it seems to me like it's already made the area feel a bit more modern and urban even though it's not quite finished yet. The reno is fixing the main problems of the old TD tower: the cold reflective glass, the blank walls, the weirdly small floor plates, the odd street level experience along Barrington and Granville.

Waterside Centre is an improvement too, particularly at night when it's lit up.

These buildings make me think that the RBC redevelopment will be a big net positive for the area too.

It is good to see a street-level picture.

Looks like they've finished installing the new glass on the original tower. It looks great:

Anyone have any new photos? Curious how much has been done on the exterior of late, and too lazy to drive downtown. :-D

Some of these photos really show how out of place the little RBC tower is starting to look. Oddly, though, I don't think I ever really noticed how small it was when I've seen it from street level.

On the other hand, the BMO tower is quite beautiful in the right light.

to foggy atm for a picture, but they have yanked the generator off the roof, and attached a landing platform up there.

From this afternoon. They have started installing the aluminum panels on the frame around the addition.

And check out the new copper roof! Love seeing the quality of material on this project.

Great pics. Ominous clouds in the first one!

Love the copper roof in the second one.

That is a very sweet renovation of a building.

Am I correct is thinking that they reclad the original tower in non-reflective glass, removing the original reflective stuff, but then clad the new tower in reflective glass like what they took off the original one?

I don't get it.

I'm a little confused as to just what they are up to. I thought it would all be uniform.

I'm also curious why it is taking so long, but I'm no construction expert. It feels like they could have finished a whole new building by now!

The existing tower was stripped down to the concrete. So those floors are getting fully refurbished. Stacking slabs and hanging curtain wall is pretty quick. It's everything else that takes time.

Most of the electrical, plumbing, interior walls ect should be done up to 16 or so. The hold up is with the demo of the old penthouse on the roof. There is a concrete slab half way between 18/19 or 19/20 that was supposed to be out of there 2 or 3 months ago but is still there.

A few more details out today on the Halifax Examiner on the court filings of the Thiels versus the Nova Centre. Seems that some of the "significant" tenants in the TD Building are coming up for renewal Dec 31, 2016. The Nova Centre office tower is being marketed for January 2016. They're fighting over them. Could it be TD? (don't know who's in the TD Building besides the bank)

So the TD tower will house... Royal Bank?

Let's fund some public space on the ground level, and call it The People's Tower.
