LMAO! The quote is by me, and it's from over a year ago What a joke. These people can't let go of ANYTHING! I am actually laughing out loud, like what the hell is that... it's even from a thread that is no longer in operation (archived)... not only that, but it doesn't even say what they are arguing that it says. Holy fuck, thank gods for ignore. Glad I checked though, I was worried this was gonna be another boring day on here.

Now for something relevant and not falsely fabricated... our newest Calgary pano by Design-Mind taken from Hughs Bluff.

Underperforming in the skyline department for sure, but nice sea of midrises.

^ Really need those Eau Claire Market towers to be built in order to block (at least partially) that wall of tinted plexi-glass known as City Centre.

I agree. I held out hope for CC for a long time, but I am starting to agree with the people that don't like it. Plus the glass, regardless of being dark, is also of extremely low quality. I'm surprised at Oxford for this. The Eau Claire Towers could start by mid-next year, at least the first (tallest) one, which will be the one to block CC anyways

I actually like CC more as I see it go up. It's not stunningly beautiful, but it's a nice addition to the skyline.

You're worried that this forum is too boring? It would clearly be less boring for you without your long ignore list.

I'm glad you're taking this well, but be aware that I will still not feel bad teasing you for time to time (not looking for it, but in this case, someone else brought it up on a platter for me anyway) because your answer to seeing your ignorance get corrected is to immediately put others on your ignore list, a behavior that I personally consider to be at total odds with the spirit of a discussion forum. If you simply changed that I think you'd find that you will have no more reason to complain that so many people are picking on you.

Just having a bit of fun with our friends in Ottawa.

Actually when it comes to built form we don't do much at all to help this region look better, to be quite honest.

We do help a lot with the natural setting though, and (arguably) we also help make the capital region more fun!

"These people"?

Hey guys, moving on from an interesting non-Calgary related discussion, to another Calgary picture that demonstrates how over-exposed this city is in the forum!

Yep. Hull's sex-and-booze scene is a nice counterweight to Ottawa's family-friendly & government persona.

Plus all the more wholesome recreation like skiing, beaches, boating, cottages, etc.

Sometimes you guys probably just need to take a step back from the little world that is skyscraperpage.

I tend to stay out of the politics of skyscraperpage and just enjoy the pictures and news on development. Everyone has an opinion on what's better and what's not, they're just opinions, to each their own.

Enough about the distractions in other cities; let's get back to Calgary!

Still nice to see!

Is it me of we see Montreal (Mont Royal) right in the middle of the pictures?

^wow, good question. It could be Mont Royale, or more probably, Mont Rigaud (below).

Good observation there guys. The countryside of eastern Ontario going south and east from Ottawa is extremely flat. There are no hills to speak of.

Looking at it closely there are three bumps. The two to the left could be Mont Royal and Mont Rigaud, and the one further to the right could be any number of mountains in the Adirondacks of New York. Whiteface being the tallest at around 1500 m I think.

I think you are right. The two bumps on the left make more sense.

I can't tell if you guys are serious about seeing Mont Royal on that pano of Ottawa. Because, really, it's impossible.

Starting from the left and following the "ligne d'horizon", the first bump you see is likely Mont Royal (at the left of the main cluster of buildings).
