For summer 2015; AC1/2 YYZ-NRT gets the 788 while AC5/6 YYZ-HND gets the 77W (classic pods). It appears that AC is the only North American airline that has been able to make HND work.

For YYC, we will see the 77W twins comming from FRA and LHR. Much to the chagrin of some YEGers, AC898/899 sticks around.

Expect to see a bit more rouge from YVR (Asia and/or Europe)... but not much more.

The original quote from Rovinescu was all T-Pac 763 flights to be converted to 788 by next June. All YVR-Asia 763 flights are now showing as 788s in the summer scheds as well (PEK goes back to 77W again). So I am thinking YYC-NRT will go too or perhaps a bit later in the year (maybe not by June).

Another great result.

That's ~ 84,000 more pax than last August.
73,000 of that was domestic.
7,500 increase in international.
3,500 increase in transborder.
Transborder growth seems to have lost some fire.
July wasn't restated either... Perhaps they got it right the first time :-)

Appears more FBO traffic is using YYC these days as well.

First summer of the 77W on YYC-LHR: my gate agent friend says loads held "very strong" all summer long right up until the downguage in equipment a few weeks ago. Needless to say, that's not a surprise; the record breaking numbers support her assessment, not to mention we had 333+763 to LHR in the summer of 2010 so we already knew Calgary could fill the seats.

Actually we had the 77W back in the summers of 2011 and 2012, when the route dropped from double daily (daily 333 and daily 763) to once daily.

But yeah the UK stats paint a solid picture of YYC-LHR LFs for June, July and August. YYC has absorbed about 70% of the additional capacity so good news. With the BA 788 on deck for next summer as well should be able to grow further.

I flew on the AC 747-400 out of Calgary many, many years ago.

Wasn't that long ago... 2002 or so? A plane with some 30 less seats than the current high density 777 and only 20 more than the 3 class config of the 77W going forward.

Looks like Sunwing is loading its summer 2015 program already.

Sunwing is more than doubling its YYC flights.

This summer we saw 3 weekly to CUN, VRA and MBJ.

Next summer we will see 7 weekly flights to CUN, VRA and MBJ, and now also PVR, CCC (Cayo Coco), SJD and FPO (Freeport, Grand Bahama).

Looks like all flights except for CUN and PVR will originate in YEG. That won't be poplular with them. Also, PVR originates in YVR.

I guess people wanting to escape the summer snow?

So is this because of the aftermath of the Chicago control centre fire (just keeping our E-W/W-E traffic north of that area)?:

Unsure, but it's possible. An extra layer of protection to meter traffic in and out of their airspace until it's back to 100%.
