Imagine Vancouver with a supertall like the Salesforce tower in SanFran. Hell, even a Bow sized tower. That would elevate their skyline to being the best in the country imo.

To each their own, but I dont think any city in the country can beat Toronto's skyline at present or even in the near future. Vancouver is a close second though, for sure.

I like Calgary, as number 2, just because they have a good deal of 200 meter (++) towers.

Nobody can come close to Toronto's skyline in terms of number of buildings. People can like whatever city they want whether it's their natural beauty, topography, type of building material, etc. But when it comes to 100m, 150m and 200m towers... TO takes the cake and will continue to do so. The lake also adds a special flair to TO's skyline, giving the impression it's a coastal city. The thing about Toronto is that you won't be able to get all their tall buildings in one shot, regardless of how much of a panorama you use. You will never get Eau Du Soleil, Mirvish Towers, One Bloor, Aura, the big bank buildings, and ICE towers all in one shot. The skyline has/will continue to grow so much that you can never really enjoy the beauty of it because of elevation and distance between them.

Calgary, Montreal, and Vancouver all have exceptional skylines in my opinion. They each have their own strengths (Montreal has the unique style of buildings and old churches, the St Lawrence river backdrop, Calgary has some awesome tall buildings and more to come with a super modern prairie theme going, Vancouver has that futuristic glass tower look with a gorgeous mountain backdrop). Edmonton is well on their way with their new tower planned, I've even seen some nice Winnipeg shots too. So Canada should be proud of all the awesome skylines we have.

A skyline should not be viewed as a mathematical equation. Most 150m or 200m is meaningless when we're talking about visual appeal. Does Manhattan's skyline look all that much better than Toronto's just because it has way more towers? Most skylines are pretty bland and sterile looking unless you have a natural surrounding like Vancouver. That's why only a few skylines in the world can match Vancouver's.

If it's not based on the math, then it becomes subjective, and anyone's skyline could be the best.

Toronto's is by far and away the best in Canada... is it really possible to dispute that? It's just so massive.....

People can discern the difference between things that have a better artistic impression. Nobody thinks Justin Beiber is a better artist than John Lennon or even Alanis Morrisette. If we're going strictly with numbers, Vancouver's skyline features the 4000 foot North Shore mountains...

Again it all comes down to personal choice. If you want to strictly go by numbers... Toronto wins without competition. Mountains aren't buildings, let's not be silly. But most people don't judge a skyline on just that. You can't say Vancouver is the nicest simply because it has mountains...I myself prefer big and tall bold towers which cast their light onto a nearby large body of water. It makes the skyline look magical and almost not real. So again, it comes to down to each persons opinion. Someone in here probably thinks Niagara Falls has the nicest skyline in the country. Each to their own.

Mountains or not, I can think of no shortage of skylines that are less "bland and sterile" than Vancouver's.

Natural setting helps, but so do the buildings.

It might not have any high-rises, but look out New York - Castlegar has got 4,000 ft. mountains instead!

That Vancouver shot is pretty good, never seen a picture with the Island mountains in the background. I think Arrowsmith is about the same distance as Baker though, just about 1/3 the height.
