I like the box girder elevated guideways too. We really haven't seen them very many places in the Skytrain system if you think about it.

They're starting to install glass in the new parts on west side of Lougheed Station, but it's all covered up with styrofoam protection at this point.
Still no rail clips on the inbound guideway curve, but it looks like they're getting ready to do that soon.

A random nice surprise from Google+: it took a bunch of photos and videos over the past year and autogenerated a "highlights reel" video montage.

Nice video.

So if Google created that montage, do they own the copyright in it?
The new "work" being the collection and arrangement of your images and videos.
(Note that Google would not be able to commercialize it without a licence to use the underlying images and videos (unless that's in the Google standard terms?)

I was down there, on North Road, today.
There are now just two guideway segments left to be constructed!

Did you notice if the gantry crane has moved south of Austin or is it still above the intersection and attached to the guideway?

It seems it took them a week to get the Austin guideway finally up, and I think even once the two remaining segments are done, I think the Austin guideway itself won't be 100% done. It seems to be resting on temporary pads like the Como Lake guideway before, hence need to create permanent pads afterwards (I don't understand why this is so).

It looked to me (from a distance and not in direct line of sight) that the crane was past Austin this morning. It actually looked like the crane fully spanned the 2-column gap, which was a pretty cool sight to see the two guideways finally joined (albeit incompletely).

The gantry is spanning the north of the two remaining gaps, with part of the machine hovering over the southern / last gap.

It has been like that since Wednesday (your post was Friday) so I guess they are back to the one segment per week schedule. This would definitely fit their announced schedule of a "late September" completion with the gantry crane arriving at Coquitlam Central on "early October".

Or perhaps its just for the Austin one since its construction (using temporary pads) is very similar to the Como Lake segment. The gantry crane would probably move forward by Monday, if it hasn't already. Going to be interesting seeing how the forward section would rest on top of the Lougheed steel segments....

North Road update:

1) The second to the last segment has been lifted up this morning and its all connected by the afternoon. Its at a point that they are letting the epoxy dry up.

2) I dunno how long it would dry, but its quite possible that the gantry crane may move south for the last time on Thursday or Friday (and perhaps lift the pieces of the last segment, but not finished, by Saturday). Note that the forward section of the gantry crane is above the Lougheed steel guideways.

Man....the wait is almost over!

How do they lift the rails and whatnot up? Do they just lift them up via a crane as needed along the line or is there some sort of machine that will travel along the guideway?

They have machine travel along the guideway. The guideway near south portal already have tracks laid and emergency walkway handle installed.

The yellow panels on the west side of the station are insulation, not glass. The ones that look like this?

Unless there's different ones I missed... I'll keep an eye out on my trip today.

I would imagine there are doors between the two halves of the tunnel, and opening them likely shuts down traffic on both sides.
I concur. Single bore tunnels are rarely permitted mainly because there is no emergency exit in case of an emergency. It's cheaper to do a single bore for this project with a wall between to create two tunnels with fire separation. Like the Canada Line, doors will connect the two tunnels every so far. The added bonus is that if something happens in one tunnel, it does not effect operations in the other tunnel, so trains could be rerouted. Operationally it makes a lot of sense.

It's gonna take them a long time to disassemble it and then reassemble it on the other side near Coquitlam Station though.

The Port Mann Bridge girder was moved twice.

While it is considerably smaller, the pieces must also be disassembled into much smaller components than with the PMB launcher in order to fit on the roads, also several parts of it can likely only be moved at night.
