Not sure I follow your statement . I am not knocking Philly for gaining an average of only 10K a year . It sure beats the 500K that was lost between '50 and '10 . My claim was merely to note the growth that has occurred recently . Oh , and by the way , there are plenty of ( non sun belt ) cities that have grown , either in total numbers or as a percentage of previously listed population , that are equal to or greater than Philly .
...... I don't give a rats ass about what other cities are doing , with regard to population...... But I am impressed with what is happening here , and felt a desire to make my observation a positive one , not a contest over " My dog's bigger than your dog " discussion .... ........ But here IS something to brag about ..... U.S.News and World report just came out with it's list of best colleges in the U.S. Princeton toped the list ( no surprise there ) but in the top 10 ..... University of Pennsylvania at # 9 and
for best Liberal Arts Colleges , Swarthmore at # 3 ....... Not bad , not bad at all .
