Great read! I have only heard of about half of those proposed projects.

P.S: This is my first post on the forum in months, which is probably why many of those are news to me. I hope to get back into the habit of coming here! I Hope everyone missed my presence.

Drove by ESA Hyatt house today. Facade is nearly done, little scaffolding left.
3rd west between SoTemp and university is becoming a nice district with a lot of culture and activity. Traffic calming should be introduced to make it more ped friendly.

West sidewalk north of arena is torn up in various spots. My commute is going to be a nightmare.

phase II of Wilmington Gardens in Sugarhouse
the next big apartment complex across 500 West from the Gateway
the Boyer Group's residential development on 200 East.

There was a site for City Center Lofts. They tore down an old apartment building for the lot. I'm guessing they couldn't get funding for a somewhat radical building, though. I agree that these projects that are dead ought to be removed from the front page, though.

Speaking of tearing down, SLC really needs to change the law so that you can't tear something down until you have funding or have permits so we don't end up with holes all over the city.

Ok, I went ahead and clean out the list a little bit. Does anybody know any thing about the "Brunswick Apartments" development? It's been awhile and wasn't sure if this one is dead or just taking forever in the planning stage.

The deal between the partners fell apart. Unless they sell it I don't see this being built anytime soon.

I was by Broadway park lofts today at twilight. - I didn't realize how nice they were. They look really expensive but also industrial modern which is awesome.

I drove by courthouse TRAX today on university boulevard. and it looks like its a mess. And they won't install a damn third canopy even though UT is both incredibly sunny and snowy, and we actually utilize our transit system. But nooooooo let's be cheapos and ignore the chaos of a snowy morning at CH TRAX, the busiest transfer and boarding station besides SLCS in the entire system - and let's pack mounts of tourists, commuters, and locals in to a narrow strip of land. I'm beginning to think the yellow line is going to become needed to reduce traffic at courthouse - most of the people there are just transferring from green or blue to red and vice versa. And there's no system to tell people to move N for NB and EB trains or S for SB trains so they have to run up to the train (especially if it's an airport train because those people have luggage and don't know the system so they just walk to the south end) which slows even more stuff down (if you've experienced 15 min there during the afternoon you can see how bad the problem is).

I like the tower problably more than everyone else, but I hate how the rest of the complex spreads out.

That WTC on the Carl's Jr. site is not a real design and more a placeholder for what could be developed there.

I'm pretty sure the central city bus hub is being planned there for the streetcar and the large amount of buses on state headed to Davis co and the university bound and exp busses to SE valley for 2nd south which is definitely a much needed hub. I hope they make it more than just a concourse - and indoor facility would be appropriate.

Knowing UTA, that's never going to happen.

Maybe so...but that design is nothing more than just a mock-up of what the area could look like.

I'm not sure if this has been mention here, but the old flour patch location on state has been fenced up. There's a excavator already ripping chunks of the back of the building.

I think he finally did.

On another note, this is kind of stupid but, I hate when the lighting at the top of the towers go out and are not replaced. I have noticed the Key Bank tower signage has been off for a while as well as some of the warning beacons on top of some towers. The World Trade Center Utah used to have accent lighting (florescent tubes) outlining the buildings structure. The Wells Fargo building used to have a lot more of the blue neon lighting up the front and around the top. It's just a weird nerd light fetish I have...
