^ Agree on all counts. It's not there yet, but the number and quality of retailers moving into the area is very positive.

Did 1910 residential development make the city money? 1930? 1950? 1970? (excluding city owned development like Millwood's)

Newer neighborhoods come closer than ever before to breaking even, and are designed to require significantly less maintenance and longer lifespans in infrastructure.

They do come closer to being tax neutral, but do not contribute to city-wide civic projects like rec centres, bridges or the like, from what I understand.

I don't think so. Isn't there still a few years on the lease for the park and ride?

Guess they never landed another tenant then yet? Disappointing but makes sense from an economic standpoint.

Edgewater is gaining some decent height, one tower around 12ish storeys and the other possibly 8-9.

they contribute to city-wide civic projects like rec centres, bridges or the like including lrt and downtown revitalization and blatchford etc. on exactly the same basis as every other resident in the city of edmonton. they pay property taxes. on what basis do understand different?

Had a great meeting/update on the Healy lands project on 106st/north of 103ave. Unable to say much out of respect and privacy, but the architect chosen has done some great work in other cities. The scale of this project is still evolving, but I think it will surprise many of you

The park and ride parking lot would be relocated to another section of the land, with a reduction of 50 spots. It was in the news months ago that Procura was trying to work with the city to do this.

KR at possibly being chopped from 29 to 21.

2 trains of of thought.

IMO.

They recognized between Epcor stantec and COE tower that there is just to much office space up for grabs.

Or Maybe KR should have more faith in their product and marketing team!
