Related to retail-the sidewalk on the NW corner Broadway @ Cambie is being torn up and the stupidly dangerous tiles being removed.
I wonder how many lawsuits it took for someone to clue in that the design was faulty.
From what I've seen in front of London Drugs the new design is butt ugly but not hazardous.
The "dangerous tiles" are due to the ground below that sidewalk sinking. The section that has already been replaced to the West appears shoddily done - I'm not sure why. The rest of Crossroads is very high quality.

This is the second time I believe it was done. It was done shortly after opening. but it failed again. The problem is that part of the pavers are on top of the parcade and the remainder is above the back filled area. t must have been a poor design flaw as this is a normal finish detail as parkades are built to property lines typically and the set back when they hit street level.
The two tenants in 609 have already been agreed upon but announcements are still coming. The tenants are more along the lines of amenities for the office users than the destination retail found in the mall.

I remember that Library Square had a similar issue. The perimeter of the site was backfilled with sand (also a reason the street trees are doing so poorly there), that subsided over time, causing the paving stones to sink. The City had to pour concrete pads under the pavers to provide a firm foundation for them.
The Lush at pacific center is down at the far end or middle when norstroms opens up. They took over the Ronsoms shoe area. They should be close to finishing in the next week or so as the hoarding has been up for some time
I like trees as much as the next guy, but if I were Sephora I'd be a little ticked about spending so much money on the facade when it is only barely visible at the end of the day.

That is one thing I have never understood about the city.
Trees are certainly nice but on a street like robson or any shopping street for that matter they tend to block the facade of the building (along with other issues that creep up once the roots start to grow)

Yeah, they closed in the Spring...April-ish. Started with a "moving sale" then just the See ya later West End, bye bye. No word as to their future, my guess is they are done done.
