The downtown core was busy for a long weekend Sunday night. As mentioned in another thread, the cineplex at City Centre Mall was busy, as was Fionn MacCools. Jasper Ave had quite a bit of people out and about. Rice Howard Way patios (Sherlock's, Craft) were busy, Woodwork was packed, and saw people trickling into Underground and the XO Club. The only places closed in the area were Tres Carnales and Hundred.
Probably absolutely nothing to read into, but the Edmonton Arena District twitter account retweeted some random person tweeting at Trump to build in Edmonton. Probably a "hey, we agree, build here!" more than a "hint hint" but thought I'd post anyway.
If a local developer wants Trump to front a project, it is no different than bringing in Brad Lamb to do it. Except you have to go a little crazy on the per square foot side methinks.
This site is owned by True North Properties, unless recently sold to someone else. Not a fan of the fake stone or odd seafoam green roof features, but not terrible overall.
