I don't know what it's like now, but when I lived in Hamilton from 2002-2009 there was almost constant filming. Most of those films were considered to be shot in "Toronto"

Probably they were shot in Toronto with some scenes in Hamilton. There's a good number (not huge, but a good number) of films & TV shows that have the odd scene in Kingston, because the Toronto-based production crew decides for whatever reason to come out this way for a scene or two.

Earlier this year, some new Hollywood movie had a scene filmed in Kingston's Market Square. They rented out the whole square, a chunk of downtown streets, and built a massive set, and spent a whole day filming here. When all was said and done, the total amount of footage from Kingston in that movie is just 2 minutes. The rest filmed in Toronto.

It's primarily filmed in Toronto, but they do have to do some of the shooting in New York to establish major landmarks.

Like Alphas did. I remember one time they photoshopped the Empire State Building across the street from Union Station. They also accidentally let the CN tower into a few shots though.

No, it's quite a big industry in Hamilton, though I suspect filming is down across the board in Canada since the dollar went up a couple years ago. Quite a few things are filmed mostly or entirely in Hamilton. I know of a couple movies that are actually set in Hamilton (as in Hamilton is the city in the movie) and a few notable films that were shot in Hamilton and show a lot of the city (Four Brothers comes to mind).

I think this is the most futuristic shot I've seen of Toronto.
