Agreed. I really wanted that W-hotel project on Main to happen as it would have at least filled in the skyline at P&M a little bit.

The towers currently under construction will help to flesh out the skyline a bit... D Condo and Centrepoint are not the tallest, but they will make a difference.

But yeah, you look at other larger cities in Canada and compare their skylines from 1990 to now and they look dramatically different. Ours still looks pretty well the same, apart from the CMHR.

I'm looking forward to seeing a tall downtown building with a hat.

so thats some progress in the core not to mention convention center and winnipeg art gallery will add some further desnity in the area.. its a slow process but atleast were seeing some developments in the core.... to think 10 years ago we didnt even have the mts center

Longest day of the year on Saturday. The countdown to winter begins! Wow kind of depressing... Nice photo though.

Passed through the MTS Centre today and even though I was last in there a month ago for an event, a lot has changed... work on expanding the 300 level concourse into the north atrium area appears to be moving along quickly. This goes along with the new 300 level bars being installed in the former atriums at the SW and SE corners.

This is a great improvement... it makes sense to take advantage of the atrium space that wasn't being used for anything. It's great to see significant work being done to this forgotten concourse.

Was in Winnipeg a couple of weeks ago to visit family and stayed at the Mere and really enjoyed it. A couple questions about the area: was hoping there was a coffee shop in one of the waterfront condos but didn't seem to be one in the area, any plans for one or is there not enough population yet? Also, there was a huge warehouse just to the northwest that took up a whole city block, can someone tell me what that building is?

I'd like to know the cost of leasing the space, more a factor than foot traffic or activity.
