Nah I doubt he thinks that. I don't think most developers care about symbolism. If money could be made make building something taller, then they will do it. Thats capitalism right there. The best opportunity to make a profit rules all. Just look at the Hudson Spire. It it comes to its true reality and potential, it would trounce the title of NYC's tallest from WTC1. And even then, 432 Park Ave will be taller when it comes to the roof. In a growing city, we can't allow one tower to be the kind, even it its symbolic. The ESB is symbolic, likewise the original WTC was too, but we need to move on. Can't live in the past.
