But if my opposition to an unneeded stadium prevents you from thinking rationally then perhaps you have some issues to work out. If you think that the opposition to the stadium is limited to troubled individuals then you need to get out more and interact with your neighbors more often.

What's wrong with a stereotypical Irish pub? People enjoy them, they generate traffic, and are generally successful. There isn't an authentic Irish or English pub in the city so it's not like the market isn't open for some experimentation.

Really digging that Lakeshore development.

Something I wish Regina had is an "urban market" downtown. When I was in Seattle, I was really blown away by how cool a grocery store could be when integrated into dense residential areas. Would be fantastic to have something like that here, but we need way more people living downtown.

The lakeshore pharmacy will be a tenant in the new development on 23rd. They're an existing tenant already.
Does anyone know whats was going on at the corner of harbour landing drive and gordon rd.? They were drilling and have it staked out.

Does anyone know if the new building going up in Canterbury across from the Naked Bean is going to be the same size? Excavation looks like it isn't going all the way to the intersection. There is a house(?) there that I assumed was temporary but looks like they aren't moving it.

I am fairly certain that the house is a heritage site and won't be moving.

I also think I remember hearing that the new building is going to be the same look but six stories instead of 3. Can anybody confirm?

The "house" he's thinking of is more of a sales centre I believe... clad in vinyl siding, and a bit down Badham, not the heritage building closer to Broad & College.

It will disappear soon enough. That was just a temporary office for the developer.

Yep, that's what I was talking about. Just seems weird they didn't move it before starting the excavation.

I could very well be wrong but I think I heard that somewhere. Just want somebody to confirm whether I am right or whether I have been spending too much time with Rob Ford.

Switching to non-commercial construction for a second, has anyone seen the Usonia home that's being built on the corner of Garner Ave and Kings Road overlooking the park?

It's massive.

The wife and I looked at the house that was there before when it was up for sale 2 years ago. The lot was 10,500 square feet but the house was garbage & we didn't have the funds to fully renovate a $400,000 house, regardless of the excellent location and lot size. Well it looks like someone saw the potential in it and it making the most of it. The new home fills almost the entire lot from end to end. I'm not usually a fan of Usonia's square block homes sticking out like sore thumbs in character neighbourhoods, but this is a great design and a good use of a lot that was otherwise wasted by a 1950's low cost home. Land in and around that Kinsmen Park area is definitely becoming higher in demand.

That thing has been under construction going on two years, I think. As slow as Usonia normally is, I am surprised it's not finished yet!

And yeah, it's really big and really nice. It has a basement garage (I think), so the main floor seems to be almost half the lot. That house could possibly be 4,000-6,000 square feet or more, including the second floor. Crazy.

The house with the observatory on top in the Greens might have the market on crazy big for Regina. It is massive. (I'd heard it's four families moving in there together. I suspect that means multiple generations.)

I got the info from Reed Construction data that says 6 floors plus 3 levels of underground parking.

Crazy yes. I assume you mean the giant place covered in the odd pinkish colored tiles?

As far as crazy the space ship house on one of the Heseltine peninsulas might be tops. There is no streetview just sattelite. this house has a garage with a glass wall into the house. Must have a pretty nice car to show off. Also, the furniture is out of this world.
