It kinda goes both ways when your asking in a public setting, to their specific project which might be behind schedule if they can actually get the turf down and set on time. You can't be believe they would say no at risk of reprimand, I would take hat they with a grain of salt. How about asking a different company that does similar turf technology and installations.

For a project manager, lying about the status and progress of your projects is not conducive to a successful career. And this guy looks like he's got a lot of years left in his.

The first MLS game was played at BMO Field 30 days after they started installing the turf there.

The conspiracy folk seem to think that public servants still lie as they might have in the past. As a former newsboy, (unless public figures are morons and there are some) generally these folks know that the best thing to do is say nothing.

Not the old time "no comment" which went out of fashion years ago and has terrible optics, just make no public pronouncements and nothing is on the record to come back at you. It's real simple.

So you think they schedule news conferences when they have something to hide? You just don't have 'em and make people unavailable.

Quite right. And there's also a million dollars per missed game at stake - if that happens, then contractually the city would owe that to the Ti-Cats, but the city wouldn't be on the hook for it... they'd pass the bill to Infrastructure Ontario, who would put a squeeze on the builder, and it would likely end up in court. Any details related to construction or announcements and updates would be fodder for lawyers.

I'd like to believe that MLSE are sincere in wanting to resuscitate the Argonauts, but I have my suspicions that they're intentions aren't exactly above board. If they own a club, they're in a better position to help it but they're also in a better position to kill it.

When it comes to football in southern Ontario and corporate Canada, nothing would surprise me any more. All they care about is dollars and cents. Our cultural institutions are expendable. They'd kill the Leafs if they thought it would be profitable to do so. They don't care one iota.

They're not and they've made no secret of that, saying on numerous occasions that they don't want to buy them but they're almost forced to, to get what they want.

You know what I'd love to see, Braley pull an end run on them and say he wants to buy an NFL team and keep the CFL alive as well. It's a joke when they mention Bon Jovi and everybody thinks Braley is this crew cutted joke of a hick. He's worth three times Bon Jovi and the NFL would love him. It would never happen but boy would I love to see him screw with MLSE's mind by making overtures.

Well I don't know if that is a minimum or what but that deadline has passed for THF as there are only 59 days before the home opener... If it takes a month to do the field, who knows when they'll even start... a week, two weeks, mid-june?

I would be totally on board the schadenfrauede train if Braley could score the NFL team and leave MLSE and Rogers out in the cold.

I don't get why some Torontonians feel the need to bury the Argos. I mean, even if you want the NFL to come to town, why would you want to lose an existing team? There are many examples of cities represented by two major league teams, or if you prefer, minor league teams in the same sport as major league teams. Where does everyone get this idea that Toronto is somehow incapable of handling both a NFL team and a CFL team?

It takes 53 days in total for the installation - including getting the base ready for the turf

How are some Torontonians burying the Argos? You either have an interest and support them, or you aren't interested and don't support them - regardless of how they feel about an NFL team.

Yes. But it's shown that those 15-20K people largely come from elsewhere and not the city as the Argos season ticket base is mostly based in Woodbridge and Vaughn.

The Argos being second class remnants at Rogers get a lot of rump dates to host games, try weekend at evening model the Argos use for much of the season, I am not sure how successful it is but If the team died tommrow, nobody in Toronto would care.

The City hasn't cared about the Argos since the late 70's and they spent a generation not on TV, people my age growing up would of never seen a Argo game unless it was the GC, live, etc.

This is the part I don't understand. Could you say nobody cares about TFC or the Raps, because the Argos avg game att and TV ratings are higher than both.

Also, they were the hot ticket during the Gretzky, Candy, McNall era and drew better (than now) during the C and S regime.
