This is the new sign at Gallivan where the Olympic banners were. One side has fireworks and says Gallivan Center, i haven't seen the other side bit i think it says something about downtown salt lake, and the third side has this. I'm really glad that they were able to keep the Olympic logo and overall theme.

I too like that they incorporated Olympic imagery on the new vinyl.

Bravo on the Air Hotels, I love the added height, and the addition of another boutique hotel, with clean high end finishes and a roof top pool/club, definitely something new to the SLC market.

A few updates have been made on the front page. Including Air Hotels, and the new rendering for 151.

This is by far the best site for inside and current info.. It's interesting to see the media outlets come out with the same info, days or even weeks later.

Salt Lake is Really starting to take shape. makes me start to second guess geetting into Architecture programs out of state.

LOL, I hope it's NOT the Tribune Building. Might make it a bit hard for the Neumont students to study if there's a wrecking ball crashing into their classrooms.

The metro is a very interesting demolition project... It looks like there's two large super beam that run across the top of the whole depth of the building. They are tearing everything down an leaving the beams.. I wonder how they will safely take that down.

SALT LAKE CITY — After more than a decade, the original vision for Utah’s fiber-optic network project UTOPIA may finally be realized, thanks to an Australian investment group.

Sydney-based Macquarie Capital Group wants to finish building the network that has been plagued by inconsistent financing and construction.

The idea for the Utah Telecommunications Open Infrastructure Agency began 12 years ago to bring high Internet speeds — as fast as 1 gigabit per second — to individuals and businesses.

The 11 cities that originally signed on with UTOPIA and now will decide whether to opt in to Macquarie's proposal are Brigham City, Centerville, Layton, Lindon, Midvale, Murray, Orem, Payson, Perry, Tremonton and West Valley City.

“One of the big potential advantages to this proposal is it would build up a whole system, and the system would finally have the scale of connections, and therefore customers, that would be able to fulfill the vision that it was originally started with,” said Wayne Pyle, West Valley city manager and chairman of the UTOPIA board of trustees...
