I liked that design element also, but over all the new design has very strong details as well. Thanks for the warm welcome and for your support. I will get a post up about Evermore soon.

Oh and of course we will welcome your business when open

Ken! Great update! Thanks for letting us be the first to see your renderings! I love it!

For those counting at home, that was four (4) exclamation points.

Ken's post just beat out Provo's Mayor in terms of what's more "Epic"

At 14-stories, this should now block out most, if not all of the BorgCube from I-15. I welcome this change and think it's a great idea to have this as a hotel. I would like to see more hotels pop up along West Temple.

Ken! Welcome and thanks for sharing the rendering. I, for one, am pretty excited about this project. I truly think this is something downtown really needs. I was also presently surprised to hear about the 350 seat theater space. I'd love more details on that, if you're willing to share them.

I also saw the Evermore display while at Comic Con two weeks ago. Very impressive. That will be an amazing addition to the Wasatch Front. You and your people are doing some killer things. I love your ambitions, and the fact that you actually follow through on them.

Very Nice.. Clean and modern.. Now you need to get your hat in the ring for the new CCH and put a stamp like this on it.. SLC is dying for stuff like this instead of old warehouse style clubs.

AIR Views

Just a point of interest perhaps. Below are two views from AIR. We spent a day flying a drone up (called an Octo-copter) to capture some images and videos of the upper level views. Both images where taken at lower levels (approx. the 8th floor) because the previous design was only 8 floors. Our new design has the Pool Top viewing level at nearly 14 stories. The views will be great looking over W. Temple towards the SLC skyline and mountains!

AIR Hotels (North/East View)

AIR Hotels (South/East View)

You are making me want my own drone even more now. Not going to make the wife happy with me spending money on one of those toys.

It will definitely have some great views. The Northern shot looks great but the Southern one I would like to spit on that large open block filled with a parking lot. Salt Lakes density is extremely lacking on the Southern end. It isn't just the lack of density but lack of street engagement and the Little/Grand American Hotels don't help either.

Welcome to the forum Ken! This looks like a great project! I had heard that the AIR was being put on the backburner, but I am glad to see that is not the case! And I love the change in direction!

I think if there was any way to fill in or reduce that gap it would really help the block as a whole to be more urban and engaging to pedestrians. Overall the project looks awesome and is very exciting. Love some of the similarities to City Center in Las Vegas as far as the interior treatments go.

Now we just need another version of this for the Air development.

Also, Future Mayor may want to update the first page with the new rendering.

Just getting back to my screen and expecting something exciting(epic announcement in Provo). I have to agree with Projects, this is far more exciting from a building geek standpoint. I love the changes Ken, and I agree with you, that Salt Lake is due for another very cool boutique hotel. Beautiful design, and will add so much needed infill on W. Temple. A boutique hotel is a wise move in that location, and let's hope that this and the new CCH is only the beginning for the Westward expansion of the CBD.

I like the Air... That will be a really nice addition to down town

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Shilo Inn ended up being the operator since they sold their old building.

No it would not be funny. Ken don't listen to AjiuO, he hates the Shilo more than anyone on this forum with its lights glaring into his apartment every night. Also, having the opportunity to travel into Oregon last year I was able to see a few Shilo Inns. None of them are any special and most of them are 20 years out of date and are in desperate need of remodeling. Something as nice as the Air should never go with a 2-3 star hotel chain to be the operator.

But in all seriousness..... Ken, it's a beautiful building, and I think that it's awesome of you to come on here and show us your development. Thank you!

(read with sarcasm)
And now I am sure he is totally regretting posting on this forum having that building defaced by a bunch of development nerds with access to paint or Photoshop.

Just so you know, this building is not the first building to be defaced like this, as the Wells Fargo Center has been given this treatment and at least one other building.

Wow ... way to make our building ugly (yikes)! No comment about the Shilo Inn

... and no we are not in talks with that group! I promise everything about AIR will be classy

The hotel groups we are in talks with are based out of Chicago and CA.

Ken, welcome to the forum and thank you for posting your updated renderings for us to "ooh and ahh" over. I love the hotel concept and of course the extra height. Do you have an idea on how tall, in terms of feet the building is expected to be?
